I’m getting the itch to start decorating the hall Problem is there’s no straightforward decorating in this house and the lining papers gotta come off along with the skirting which means the lime plaster will come off to / I’m hoping one day I’ll discover a lovely brick and beam wall but I know it will be rotten lathes up to about 18” :sigh:
Been to Lincoln and got dragged around the sales by Mrs M and the ankle biters... not too bad I thought first thing as I actually wanted to buy a couple of new pair of jeans, shoes and a new belt! I shouldn't have expected any more though, I ended up getting dragged around all the shops I had zero interest in visiting whilst watching everyone else spend their Christmas money and being utilised for carrying their excess baggage. Didn't get anywhere near the one shop I wanted to visit before we had to get back to the car as our 3hr parking ticket was due to expire... Ah well, at least they all enjoyed it and got some lovely bits with there money
We finally got some peace and quiet at midday when the sons and families buggered off. Love them to bits but Christ it's hard work when they are all here together. And here are (from l to r) Zak (3yo), Florence, Noah (both 5yo) and baby Henry (2yo) in all their finery yesterday Then at 2pm we went to the girl next door for Xmas eats and drinks. I'm now full to the gunnels on both counts. Tomorrow I've volunteered to help fix her shower door.
Managed to do 2 hours running in on my KTM EXC250 tpi. What a lovely bike and happy to save the hassle of mixing oil and petrol. Gearbox oil gets replaced tomorrow and then ready for a proper blast Thursday. Glad I managed to get home before the heavy rain..although was covered in mud head to toes by the time I got home.
Dossed around the house today...got up late, ate, ate some more...played some board games..ate some more, Kipped for an hour...played cuphead with my two boys on the Xbox....tough game that one...watching sherlock Holmes on ITV 2 at the moment...kids currently demoloshing Pringles at a rate of knots...
Just a quick message to all those who received a Christmas book from me. They're due back in the library next Monday, Cheers.
Started scraping disappointingly this hidden under wallpaper thing did not contain a bag of gold sovereigns
Filed my self assessment tax return for the year to April 17 and for the first time in my life, the tax man owes me ! I’m not holding my breath to see the rebate anytime soon but it qualifies as a late christmas present. Andy
Another 10miler today, had sleet snow and glorious sunshine, with non stop rain overnight it was a bit wet underfoot in places! Swanlake bay beach - only accessible from the coastal path.....stunning!
SWMBO went to the sales at MeadowHell and I stayed at home to put away stuff that we had to get out for Xmas day (extra table and chairs etc) and also started to put some of my presents in the wardrobe etc. Since then I have watched a bit of TV (recorded stuff) as we've not had the TV on properly since 23rd December and I've had a recuperative snooze.
Done sod all today apart from a bit of food shopping and I bought a new helmet for a good saving off another forum member
