Not a 911 but this is mine had it 15 years and I wouldn't want to swap it The colour was a one off from the first owner. Was a bastard to get a colour match. The colour on the plate says Hellblau the code refers to it as nothing. Even spoke to Porsche But they couldn't give me the formula.
An old marketing director at the AA took her shoes in, pink, and they matched to those. 8k iirc and that was on a boxster.
She got fired. Went to ITV. Got fired again. Claire Salmon: suspect the colour was to make a name statement
Given the choice and the funds, I’d have a yellow one. Owned a few yellow bikes, never a yellow car, and yellow/black interior looks mint. I wouldn’t mind bright pillar box red, except it fades so easily.
Anyone out Essex way could have a look for me? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/192412425391
@bradders, may I recommend you google 996 3.4 failures/problems etc. Not the best engine to come out of Stuttgart, and this is not only internet rumours, I know guys in the POCGB who have had quite costly issues. I remember a mechanic at Brookspeed saying the fall rate was as high as 5% ??
The 98/99 has a different RMS and bearing set up and the bores are lined so less likely to succumb to scoring. According to the internet and the fella at work who has bought/sold/invested in them for a few years
I thought the lined bores had a tendency to crack? I haven’t looked into it a lot, it is just something I remember reading about.
