  6. come on show time, or at least tell us which model and spec lol

  7. 1998 C2 tip, 47k miles, been dry stored in a collection for 7 years and done 1000 miles, last owner spent 7k re-commissioning incl have the RMS bearing done, shocks all round, recent brakes, replaced tappets and few other jobs. Over budget at top end of market price but mean I can use it and still retain its value. Comes with warranty too (dealer)

He hasn't, but has sold the other one ;)

Call being made tomorrow...still mega nervous about buying. Heres the link: fella at work suggested bit overpriced but all the right work done so should be good for some period of time o_O:D

PORSCHE 911 CARRERA 2 COUPE TIPTRONIC
    Very High Specification
    Unrepeatable 911
    47000 Miles

Possibly the sharpest early 996 car to appear on the market for some considerable
time. The combination of low mileage condition and specification make this rather
a unique 996 to invest in. Values are now experiencing a sharp curve as this
once value 911 is piling on the pounds and by next Summer the prices will have
moved considerably. The beauty in this example lies in its high factory spec,
the preserved new appearance and the amount of money spent keeping it right ensuring
that each time its used it feels personal and special. £7000 of recent investment future proofing the engine,
    suspension, tyres and brakes.

    Specification Highlights

    - Zenith Blue metallic
    - Tiptronic gearbox with steering wheel shifter
    - 18 " GT3 Porsche Sport Design split-rim alloy wheels
    - Electric Sunroof
    - Porsche Navigation
    - Active Brake Differential (Option 224)
    - Black/Metropole Blue leather cabin
    - Comfort leather
    - Fully Electric seats (drivers memory)
    - Leather handbrake
    - Heated Seats
    - Full Driver computer
    - Cruise Control
    - Rear Wiper
    - Car Phone
    - Windshield green graduated tint
    - Fitted mat set

This is a matching numbers car with all original factory panels and wonderful
paint finish. The engine and gearbox are matching as manufactured and nothing
    has been changed.

Servicing + £7000 Recent Expenditure + RMS Replaced
The history is complete detailing 7 engine services and 3 brake fluid
changes. Currently this car shows 47000 miles and has no outstanding issues
and all systems are working correctly. All brakes and tyres in excellent
condition. Despite these everyday 911s handling higher mileages very well
a low mileage car offers a different experience feeling unspoiled and fresh
making each time you use that more memorable. In the last 6 months alone
approx £5500 spent at Porsche specialist Revolution Porsche.

    - Dot 4 brake fluid change
    - New variocam soldenoid seals
    - Front under tray section replaced plus new clips
    - Both horns replaced
    - Repair spoiler brake light

In addition I note walking round the following remarks.

    - All brake discs pads and wires components changed of late
    - All tyres are matching Continentals with deep tread remaining
    - New rear brake pipes

    Dual Row IMS Bearing
The very first 1998 and 1999 M96 cars have a large double row IMS bearing that
has a snap clip inside the bearing, plus a piston coating that was discontinued
late 99 into 2000 production models. Porsche later went to a single-row inferior
bearing design with a plastic coating (for health and safety reasons in production)
which has led to all the hoo-ha about IMS bearings blighting the M96 engine.
This inferior coating breaks down more easily and has led to the reputation of
the M96 scoring its bores (more prevalent on the 3.6 gen 2 cars). So the earliest
cars appear to have the most robust engines and are gaining a reputation for
being such. A Low mileage well cared for early engine is a fine Porsche engine
    that is extremely reliable.

    Condition
The coachwork is superb with minimal marks & little in any way that belies its
age. With such low mileage the paintwork is in wonderfully preserved condition,
its clear from a customary look that this is a highly detailed example
that has been cherished and the last owner of 10 years has kept this 911
beautifully detailed everywhere. The door shuts, all rubbers, engine bay,
front load and all plastics are all highly conditioned. The vehicle feels
and smells dry and clean having been dry stored when not in use. The cabin
feels like a low use environment, everything is working order as Porsche
intended The coachwork presents remarkably well with clean highly shined
glossy paint work. Dare I say it looks like a Porsche thats a matter of
a few years old and is show worthy.

    Summary
I cant think of a safer place to park sub 20k in the Porsche 911 market. An
appreciating model with a fab spec, top condition, lots of money spent and
a history to be proud of.
