  1. Which oil do use on my 848 evo 10-40 or 15-50 fully or semi ?

  2. I know my dealer uses 10-40. Can't remember if its full or synthetic.

  3. Motul 300v fully synth 10-40w would be my choice in the stretta engine ...

  4. Shell Advance ultra the best!

  5. a daft question from a newbie here. What would make Shell better than Motul?

  6. I believe most dukes come out of the show room with Shell in, i must admit my old 748 used to be run on Putoline 10/40 which had covered over 60k before droping the crank/main bearing on a track in France, my new 1198 has always had shell in from day 1 so will stick with that.

  7. My dealer uses motul.

  8. Shell have had close links with Ducati for years during the WSB days so thats whats put in from the factory and I would say most of the dealers will be "encouraged" to use it. To be fair any semi or fully synthetic will suffice as long as the grade is correct (10W40) and the right amount and changed on a regular basis. Unless you either race or do lots of trackdays then semi is fine. Also dont use car oils as these are meant for slow rpms and the gearboxes are seperate so dont have the shear stabilisers that are needed in bike engines that share the gearbox oil.

  9. Hooray an oil thread

    sorry

  10. That'll be the one
The oil thread, a fave topic for any dickwad who knows next to nothing about engines, but can string together a few bits of bullshit about viscosities, shear strength, friction modifiers and other second hand shite he's dredged up from the internet

    Take it away boys:upyeah:

  11. helpful

  12. unnecessary

  14. enlighten us with your obvious knowledge then fella!

  15. Ok Einstein, it's extremely complex, so hold on tight and see if you, the multinobbers and the other fashion victims who "bought into" the brand recently can follow this as an approach;

    1. Read
    2. The
    3. Manual

    Good luck:upyeah:

  16. I was hoping this forum wasn't going to be like this, oh well !!

    Richie

  17. I believe Moto Rapido have stopped using shell now

I wonder if I qualify for 'buying into the brand'?

  18. It's not normally mate, but oil, tax discs, tyres and multi windscreens are generally considered faux pas by all but but the innocent of members, don't take it personal like :upyeah:
