Whilst we all have favourites, which track would you nominate to be your all-time favourite, and why ?
On my itunes 100 most played list of the last year or so, most of them have 80+ plays. That list is only the times played in the house, and excludes all the times those songs are played in the car/ ipod (amongst others). Favorite one song -I really couldn't pick just one!
Very difficult to narrow down Gimme shelter is in the top 5 She sells sanctuary Thunderstruck Couldn’t tell you to be honest
Tricky. It would depend on the day but this would be between Steal My Sunshine by Len and Blackest Eyes by Porcupine Tree or possibly Blue Turk by Alice Cooper, or maybe ... nah. Can't do it. Ask an easier one! Edit: My iTunes library has 539 songs rated 5* so realistically, I may have as many as 50 most favourite songs : o )
Tough call there Ron with so many good tunes out there all representing different stages of your life. From being E'd up at the Hacienda and dancing to happy Monday's 'Step On It' or being one of hundreds in a sweaty tent at a festival listening jagwa Ma to to that song by big willy smith singing 'summertime' All good memories, but Jesus don't quote me on it!
Just me here, It could be a favourite because:- You enjoy the way it’s played. You enjoy the content because of the timing/construction of the composition. You enjoy the content because of the lyrics, the story told. You enjoy it because it stirs emotions, maybe sentimental ones. Maybe a combination of all of these? The Blue Danube comes near the top for me.
Different tunes for different occasions I think. This is one of my my snowboarding faves This lot are good for jumping around on a mad night out And one for my funeral And there's loads more in between
Very very tricky to narrow it down as mood changes etc , but today it would be : Another vote for Faithless - Insomnia Stood in a field at the Midtfyns Festival in Denmark at around midnight ( IIRC ) back in the day as Faithless kicked in with that storming tune. Every time i hear it it takes me back and feel the hair standing up on the back of my neck .
Hmm, really tricky, but possibly Starry Night by Joe Satriani, The Loner by Gary Moore, or even Parisienne Walkways ?? A bit tricky to nail just one Ron, but would certainly involve a lot of lead guitar
For me it simply has to be the live version of "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd of off the album One More For The Road.
