Madrid? Every year we go to Spain for a week and we never see any other sports bikes, let alone high-end Ducatis!
When will the journo's get hold of them? Track tests and all that.... I'm pretty certain they'll me mint. It's just how mint.
Agree. The fairings are so far forward it looks like some bastard lovechild of two Supersports (after mating, pissed, in the dark).
Rode the V4S back-to-back with the 1299 up Jebel Hafeet (google it) this morning. The difference between the bikes was night and day - V4 is so chuckable, so agile, has torque like my 1098R but revs like an inline 4. I’m seriously impressed. It’s going to be a beast on the track
I cant wait to ride a demo, I want to see if the motor is on par with the aprilia. I actually like the look of them but not planning on getting rid of the 1299. I have a SP on the way but the reviews and demo ride will give me time to make up my mind.
James, That's a hell of a road, how is the front end feel? I love the front end feel on the 1299 over the Tuono. Glad you liked it, its going to be a long wait until June.
Oooooh- you've got me all excited now. Did you have that shitty standard zorst on as well?? Or the Akra??
Recent service bulliten states not to exceed 6000rpm for the first 600 miles and then not to exceed 7000rpm for the next 1000 miles. Andy
Felt totally planted at the front and you could just put it wherever you wanted. Going down the mountain the 1299 was actually scary but the V4 felt like riding a 600. Throttle was smooth and the quick-shifter was awesome. To begin with I was short shifting as that was my mental “Change up on a Ducati when sounds like this” point, but looked down and had another 4K to go. This had the stock zorst so sounded a bit shit at idle, but wailed at the top end. The Akra is going to be a religious experience. Anyone with one of these on order is going to be very happy.
On a serious note, I recently learnt that the current generation bike’s engine management system records shed loads of information which, in the case of the 1200 Multistrada, lead to the changes we see in the 1260. So things like throttle opening and revs over time are parameters that in the event of a warranty claim can be interrogated. If the running in and service regime has not been followed to the letter, don’t be surprised if any claim is declined. Andy
That just isn't doing it for me at the moment. Maybe it will be grow on me in time. Amazing what a paint job can do as I think the speciale looks great.
