@Dave . I'm on shift for two nights, so feel free to post away mate, I'll do the same, and if we have 2 solid ideas on routes and hotels etc, we can then decide among us of where we want to go, I'm equally easy, just want some sun and ale. Miine would be Santander to Jaca, to Barbera del valles via Ripoll, and back also along the pyranees via somewhere like Barbastro, this route takes in the N260, N240 and L511, have a look on youtube, I'm as easy as it gets.
Thanks mate. I really don't know the Salamanca area and I've never done these roads before so if you think this is a good alternative then then that's probably good enough for me - I'll take a look.
I'm easy whatever. You guys are seasoned at this. I'm just happy to get out and enjoy the adventure. I've booked the time off work so I'm good to go
First things first then, can we have vote for departure point or no preference, pompey or plymouth, luxury or pikey ?? @chizel ,its easier for me and you to get to pompey (especially as I live 20 miles away) but I'm happy to go to plymouth, what about you chiz ??
PS @broke, if we going earlier than originally planned, will be back for Junes away date of the 26th, would you be up for it then mate ?? (This does not warrant a nuke Gareth !! )
Not fussed on departure, both are for me. Peasant Vs Luxury, which ever is better value, prefer not to sleep in a chair, on the floor or on the.....poop deck, worse still.... anyone near my poop deck Need to look at departure times as I might need to head down the night before
that wouldn't be the end of the world... What you guys do for luggage and locks n stuff? We try to get accommodation with secure parking?
Standard Asda carrier bag for me, 5 pairs of fresh grots, an emergency bog roll and I'm good to go...
All the hotels I go for on booking.com have secure underground parking, I have not had an issue before, If I take the multi, will be panniers on, and a bag across the back, more than enough space .
If we are going from hotel to hotel then I'll be packing ultra light ... I can't be arsed with packing and re-packing and I don't want to be riding with luggage. I normally stay in one place with secure parking or go camping with my bike tied to my todger at night, and then go on daily ride-outs with just my credit card. My Grand Tourer is ideal for that kind of trip ;-)
I don't think that's right Dave, you can share a cabin when booking separate bikes. 1 books cabin and others don't have to. You split the cost. Must do it legit tho, suggest you call Brit Ferries and sort it but no need for each to pay full for a cabin. Also see my P M for a discount code.
@Sam1199 has kindly given me his discount code for Brittany Ferries which will get us 10-15% off so nobody book anything without talking to me first Thanks Sam
That'd be a big help - I've never worked out how to do that on their website so we can look into it if folk want to share.
