It's not a blue thing, but getting the owners manual out is a good start. Once you get the basics, then asking for specifics is easier and the answers make sense.
I firmly believe to get to know your new bike you need to take it apart to bits then put it back together making sure it has plenty of loctite on the bolts etc.
When I got my Streetfighter, I kept knocking the headlight to main beam and could I hell work out how to knock it off. I rarely read manuals, but was forced to for this after stopping by the side of the road, turning the bike off and then back on again to reset the headlight on a number of occasions. When I saw what I had been doing and how easy it was to flick it back off, I had to see the funny side. (but didn't )
