I was a late comer to biking not getting interested till 28yrs. When my mate got a bike and I got jealous... 6 months later I'd past my test and bought my first bike... A 1996 Monster 750. I want nicely content with her until last July when I went to Ducati Nottingham roadshow, when unknown to me the wife had booked me a test ride for a birthday treat. She booked me a ride on a Café Racer which I really liked the look of before hand, but didn't like the riding position... The sales guy talked me into trying a Monster 797, which I didn't like as much as the 750 I already had. The sales guy then talked me into trying a 1200s, which I was terrified about riding.... BUT O my sweet Jesus.... One twist of the throttle and I was already thinking about names. The 1200s totally blew me away. 6 months of sleepless nights and I took delivery of my new (to me) 2014 1200s on the 24th November.... Since then the roads around me have been wet and covered in salt every day bar 1. I've only managed a quick 20 min test ride...... Spring can't come fast enough.... The master plan is to ride the 1200s for the next few years whilst restoring the 750 to her former beauty.... I'm no mechanic and will have lots questions.
Nice one. Welcome David. Where in Derbyshire are you? Curtis down at Ducati Nottingham is a pretty nice guy. I get my bike serviced and stuff done down there. Elliot the mechanic is pretty spot on, takes pride in what he does
Yeah Neil has a great reputation, pretty close to you also Might see you out when the weather improves. I head up that way on occasion if I'm aiming for Matlock or Bakewell
I'm just off junction 25 of the M1 so not far bud I'll keep an eye out the next time I wheel out the SD
My normal route when I don't have much time normally sees me through Matlock, Carsington, Chatsworth, Bakewell and Ashbourne.
