I'm a Dude? Thanks Wayne, I've never been called that before. I'll take it as a compliment. And @AirCon, by your definition I am also a Pup, and very pleased to have made it this far. Partly due to not riding my motorcycle on ice.
I hate modes, it's like having 4 wives telling you what to do, why would you do that? This gives a rough idea of what Ducati claim each does so pick one that sounds like you to start off with and then when conditions allow, have a play with others. Scroll down once on the link about a quarter of the way down. Welcome https://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2011models/2011-Ducati-Multistrada1200
Thanks for the advise . I suppose it all to do with trial and error. I’m sure I’ll get to grips with it .
Arhhh. ..grips there is another thread on those. Heated grips a lovely on the Mutley, however they are prone to failure. Sadly it's rarely the fuse and normally an open circuit heater matrix.
Thanks for the advice but I’ve not to the bit about the heated grips yet lol . I’m looking at trying to change the pin code for starting the bike wouthout the key first ! It wasn’t given to me with the paperwork.
Thanks pal ! I’ve already red the thread about the Likelihood of getting the bike stolen by thieves who know how to override the key function by punching in the last four of the frame number !!
That's why I told you to change it right at the beginning of this thread...and the name is Paul or AC or AirCon. ......Dude.
I've never had a bike with modes. Am I a Luddite who's missing out? Although my LC Has a mode <6,000 rpm where it couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding and >6,000 rpm where it's like a scalded cat.
Looks like I’m gonna have to Paul . I’ve been thinking of getting a tracker installed as well ! I phoned all of the bike shops in Edinburgh but they won’t touch it . So im gonna have to take it to Glasgow! Thanks for your help
Can someone with a Mutley in the Edinburgh area show our Scotney friend here the code working on their bike, just to make sure it's being done right. The code should be in the hand book and the last seller should be able to tell you what the code is.
Welcome - I’m new, too...have a yellow ‘00 stock 996, and a couple vintage BMW bikes in Coconut Grove, Florida.
Just to add to this...start looking at changing all the fixings from the bottom of the bike up. Most of them dont last as long as a chicken dinner. Use stainless or Ti and you should be good...any mild steel coated brackets (on a 2011 bike) well, probably wont be by now so get those recoated also...
