Anyone Fancy A Week Or So Away 15th April?

Discussion in 'Touring' started by Dave, Jan 6, 2018.

  1. Odd zig zag guys but you're there to ride.

Put Riano in your route Leon. In fact it might have been a good place to stay.

You might like to hold off booking any more hotels and wait n see what the weather is like.

You don't want to be chasing across a big country if it's raining. Better to be in a bar and sit it out.

    Your call of course.

  2. Hi Sam, Riano is on route mate from Cangas De Onis to Riano along N625. All the places so far are about the ride, hence once we get to Leon, heading back up the Pyranees. From here, its a run along the N260 and back along the mountains via Barbastro (L511 and C1311) :upyeah:

  3. Sounds great.:upyeah:

You and Dave are obviously well experienced.

Can you send me a copy of your route.

Maybe PM it to me and I'll see if I can hatch a plan to meet up.:upyeah:

    Off to Ronda now. :grinning::grinning::grinning:

PS, what temps you got down there ??

  5. Phone says up to 18 today. Warmer on the coast.
Ronda pro lay around 18 too.

Long drive back to the Grey country tomorrow and Thursday.

  6. whos booked? Any one want to share ? Just looking at the Leon hotel for a start and it seems to be the same rate for one person in a double room or 2 people...

  7. Blokes, we have a bloody big day on the Wed 18th, I reckon on about a 7-8 hour ride, but by doing this, it gives us three clear days to get back up to the ferry. If it's any consolation, it is a bloody good 7 hour ride, but obviously, If we get to the point where enough is enough, we can detour and take a simpler more direct route(toll roads etc.). Hotel published tomorrow night for rest of trip. 3x more hotels nights. :upyeah:

  9. All done mate, just finished , I have the best routes I can find to cover the N240, N260, C1311 and L511 to name but a few, and have covered all I can, the last 2 days are fairly easy taking in Pamplona as i know @Dave wanted to stop there. I cant be arsed to write the route yet as its bloody long winded but I'll do it tomorrow and start loading in to Nav. :upyeah:

  18. Wayne, good choice on the Cangas de Onis -Riano road, great fun, as you obviously know.

As I recall the Riano to Cistierna N625 is equally entertaining but after Cistierna heading south is boring, V boring. Can't say I know an alternative to Leon but maybe there's something better after Cistierna.

Apologies if I'm interfering but I'm on the long slow ferry back on my own and have to fill the time somehow.

Tell you what I did do today which was entertaining. The CL629 Burgos to Bilbao. Sweepers and a lovely hairpin section. The only downside, I was in a van! :worried:

Keeping it on the road with a load of booze in the back was the entertaining bit. :poop:

  19. Thanks mate, I do appreciate it, but is the Riano to Cistierno not the N621 ?? I have the N625 as Cangas to Riano ? Then the last 15 miles to Leon from Cistierno is a bit dull, so just get there and have a few beers I reckon :D
