When Will We See The V4 Be Racing?

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by broadie, Jan 18, 2018.

  1. Just wander is the V4 panigale being raced this year? I started off thinking ducati might return to the TT, so had a search and couldn't even find anything about world superbike.
After all the move to V4 is all about wsb.

  2. WSB is 2019 - not sure of any 2018 races though...

  3. All the major series will be 2019 as per exige post. I did hear there's a chance it could compete in the Italian SSTK maybe SBK series under a dispensation ruling?
They're still working on the R so it'll be a while before that's released anyhow

  4. Wouldn't surprise me if they do in Euro SSTK and Italian SBK, possibly German too. Must meet the rules now I'd have thought?

  5. The current V4 and V4S won’t qualify for WSB, to many cubes. The R will have to be 998 etc.

  7. Oh yeah, its an 1100 for the road or something isnt it? So doubt it will be in any series (except maybe Italian given its Ducati)

Can only hope so. But I think a very good zx10r oe s1000rr will cost far less even after its an some superbike upgrades and be banging 200plus hp

  8. Yeah I was down at Snell Performance tonight taking a look. 1100 so the only series you will see it in will be the club races. Shame as it looks pretty epic.

  9. Always the way with the race bike. Ducati launch the road bike first and race a year later. 999 raced 2007 then 1098R launched and raced in 2008.
V4R will be a thou, but it's not ready yet.

  13. C’mon Nelly... 999 launched end of 2002, NH won his one and only WSBK title on it in 2003.

  17. The Tri Options guys are faster than a fast thing though and there’s the new Ducati challenge thing that Dave From Mupo has organised at Cadwell basically because mere humans struggle to be quick enough for Tri Options so there’s quite a lot you can do.

  18. I know what I meant... :p
