I just bought a Motobatt battery with four terminals . My question is can I use all four terminals , ie use two terminals for the bike and two terminals for accessories like heated grips etc.
Yes, they are joined in parallel within the battery. Make sure everything has the correct fuse that is a lower rating than the cable used.
Yes. Doing pretty much the same on mine. Just be aware which way you put it in the bike as, because of the dual terminals, you can put it in backwards and blow the main fuse. Don’t ask me how I know this
When Jump starting which to which first (sorry it's from the USA) Red from the dead, to red on the good. Black from the good, to under the hood.
What do you mean by put it in the wrong way? surely as long as you are red to red and black to black everything is good, what am I missing??
Thanks, this is for my VFR800 I've got a regulator going straight to the battery , heated grips and 2 Kies heated clothing going to the battery as well . It looks so messy at the moment ,the Motobatt will clean it up heaps .
He was being a doughnut...and is colour blind or it was dark ... normally the wires can't reach .... but if you add the other two (to, Tue and too for Fin/Chiz), so you have four they always do!
Yes, but I’m used to the fact the cable reach means you can only fit a battery one way. I didn’t even give it a second thought until I plonked it in and upon touching the connectors, the starter motor starts spinning and I blow the fuse.
It would be nice to get a decent cover on that + terminal..... potential for a nice fire there.... dropped spanner, screwdriver, keys, allen keys or necklace.
All been sorted since. That was shortly after I got the bike 2nd hand. I’ve since ordered and replaced all the bits like the battery cover, rubber battery strap, tool kit strap etc... Besides, I don’t wear my pearl necklace like that so it’d never contact
