Hi guys , I fancy getting my 959 wrapped . Is there anywhere near south wales that you would recommend ?? Also is it a ride in ride out job or is it a longer job ?
I assume by wrapped you are meaning protection film?....if you are its a long process.....all painted panels will have to be prepared and machined to remove any imperfections....then PPF is applied.....you'll be looking in the region of £800 or more if you opt for the best films.....time dependant on the people applying and their workload but expect at least 3 days...if you don't mean protection film please accept my apologies for the miss-interpretation.
I can’t help with location. Mine were done in London by eurotint. Great guys if you can get the panels to them. To get a proper job done, all of the panels really need to come off. If you want them to remove/replace the panels you are going to have to leave it with them. What I tend to do (to save money and hassle) is remove all the panels/tank and deliver them to the guy and leave them for a week when I’m not using the bike. Photo for attention!
I have my streetfighter booked in to Bossdogs in redhill on the 10th Feb They’re keeping it for the week as having to strip it - £50:00 to create art work / render £500 to complete
Just had my panels back from boss dog. 959 panels done brilliantly really good work. Just have to put it all back together now. Regards Steve
New tank is a bit better I think. That one was the brushed Aluminium. This time I went for the brushed Titanium.... a bit darker and shows up the grain a little better.... The other good thing about a wrap is that you can change or add to it if you get a little bored. It acts as paint protection if you put it over original panels, and is cheaper than the clear paint protection. Very simple to put back to standard as well come sale time.
I’ll post one when it is back together. However, it is hard to take a photo that gets it across properly anyway. The Aluminium wrap could look a bit white in some photos. I think this will look more like brushed metal. Still, only time will tell. If I don’t like it, it literally takes about 2mins to remove. That is the other advantage of wrapping.... you can try things out.
Obviously not being sexist but the young lady there is quite hot as well so another reason for a visit. Regards Steve
I’ve had a few bikes wrapped. The fairing on my 899 was left on the bike and the fitter did a fantastic job, it was still solid after 2 years when I sold the bike. The cost was sub £350. More recently I had my SuperDuke done. I dropped the bike off dirty, and hung around for 2 hours while they cleaned and wrapped the bike. Again, all fairing remained on the bike and it was sub £300. Albeit it’s not got much plastic to cover. Looking at the posts above there seems to be a difference between paint protection and wrapping. What I’m referring to is clear paint protection film opposed to a total color change using a wrap.
Its a colour / design change im after . But was hoping for somewhere closer, even if theres no "lisa" lol
A lot of places may not do a lot/any bikes. Look for someone that does window tinting near you, because quite often they will do wrapping and will have a crack at new stuff to expand their customer base.
Problem I had that we have several firms that do cars but was told bikes are much more of a faf so not interested. The only local one I found that would do it was asking £750. I think you will find it worth your while to visit Boss Dog. Regard Steve
Yes, you may find that, but always worth asking. Mine is the only bike on the eurotint instagram page. Everything else is cars (that they get paid a lot more for). I paid less than £400 including the tank for mine.
