gents ive had an offer to go to almeria for 4 days track time with some mates , im guessing loads of you have been there? any info would be great.
Is it Almeria, Circuito de Andalucia or the latest version of the Circuito de Espania which is a bit of both ? Dates, organiser ? Andy
I know that some of the BSB teams are testing in Cartagena the first week in March but around February is when race teams tend to test and Almeria is one of the circuits they use so you might come across a few proper racers. IIRC the garages have power outlets that use the blue 16A round pin plugs as well as the usual “continental” 2 flat pin sockets so have an adaptor for the tyre warmers plus an extra one for a kettle that you should pack in your gear with the bike. For 4 days you will almost certainly need a change of tyres if not 2 rears to 1 front. If it’s Focussed Events, they insist on medical insurance that includes repatriation (4Counties or BenGo). People mostly stay in Mojacar Playa which is a 30 minute easy drive from the circuit but in February the place hasn’t opened for the holiday business yet so there isn’t a lot to do in the evening. It’s a 2 hour drive from Alicante and about 90 minutes from Murcia airports. Trackwise, Circuito de Almeria has fairly open bends apart from a gnarly little left/right kink chicane and a long, fast back straight. Racer boys are doing 1’35”, track day fast group high 1’40”s low 1’50”s and inters about 2’. Off track is gravelly and stony which tends to damage fairings and foot pegs. Not done Andalucia but I understand it’s like Marmite, lots of bends and Espania is the new 8 or 9km track they have been talking about for this year which joins both Almeria and Andalucia together. I prefer Cartagena but always have a good time at Almeria. Andy
Good track . FE hotel is a bit of a drive, dont believe the "20 minutes " quoted on their website! Garages are a decent size, on site cafe is ok. Go for it, life's too bloody short and UK too bloody grim not to do these euros!
The road from the FE hotel to the track is awesome though! Get yourself a little small hire car for twisty fun every morning!
Great track, tricky with lots to learn. Well worth getting the Simon Crafer Motovudo vid to get the heads up. The long left is where every one learns to get their elbow down
Not ridden but have visited and facilities are pretty good. Think MotoVudu have a riders guide on YouTube, if not I have one somewhere in cloud storage

May should be nice here to be fair, I'd love a foreign track day in winter like now, but may seems like a bit like you know when you are sat in Spain having a pint at bar and sky news weather shows it's hot at home bit deflating, not quite the same but you get my drift, silverstone on gsxr in may, Spain in November to February lol
