My Multistrada has the short carbon termi on and I have been trying to find information on pipework to get ride of the cat. Is this possible? or is the only way to get rid of the cat a full system?
You can get Decat link pipes. It will however be the same as a full system in that the sound will be biblical.
JH is right. There's no sound deadening in the Termi end as the cat does it all. Get rid of that and you'll be setting off car alarms. What I did on my first 1200, which had a Termi can like yours, was to to sell the can and put the money to a full system. It paid for half of it. And if you want a recommendation I have a full Arrows system on my DVT. Direct from Italy, via ebay, it cost about £800. It's loud, but not too much and rather classy.
My PP came with a full titanium exhaust (termi) when I bought it, I think its only noticeable loud as my 749 has a dry clutch and straight thru decored exhaust is exiting at the rear and not the side like PP is... At the time I was thinking of doing that stubby ti exhaust mod that someone did but I thought it was loud enough...
Being the full system, iirc it had baffling in the system just before it joins to make the single outlet. Looks like a snake has eaten a rabbit. Whereas the end slip on is simply straight thru and, as said above, decay means you may as well run without an end can, it’s so loud IME
i'll have another look @bradders am sure i didnt see the baffling piece in the system... (at work atm)
The silencing in the full Termi system is all in the end can which is a straight through absorption type. There is nothing in the link section. That is for the 2010 - 2012 models. I don't think the later ones are different.
I remembe one of the guys at a multi meet, dvt, having one as I describe above. That was factory fit termi. @GunZenBomZ whats yours like?
I had mine ceramic coated inside and out so I know for definite. I can't be sure for the later models though.
So if I fit the snake eating a rabbit pipework will I need to have any mapping/tuning? or is it a plug n play?
@ the Aston Martin... whoooaaaa... wonder what that was on the 2 post ramp, i did have a 1936 ford roadster not standard like that is going to be...
@Rebel It's not mine but it shows you that certain rich folk have stuff sitting inside barns up & down the country slowly rotting away, that could be of incredible value given some serious rebuild effort.
