Textile Gear - Creased

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by HyperMac, Jan 23, 2018.

  1. My Missus, in her wisdom , packed away my brand new Dainese Goretex Textile gear in one of those vacuum bags ( to keep it from getting mouldy ) .And after removing them , both the jacket and trousers are creased to buggery.
Any suggestions how to get creases out without having to wash them ?
Was thinking possible bung them into the tumble drier for a quick 5 or 10 mins. But not familiar with goretex reacting to tumble drying heat :D

Sensible suggestions much appreciated :upyeah: Cheers

  2. Damn it, I was full of useful ideas until I read the last line.

  7. A google search for 'can I iron gore-tex' yielded the following from Gore-tex themselves:

    https://www.gore-tex.com/support/restoring-water-repellency

Once it is dry, tumble dry your garment for 20 minutes to reactivate the durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment on the outer fabric. If unable to tumble dry, iron the dry garment on gentle setting (warm, no steam) by placing a towel or cloth between the garment and the iron.

  8. Won’t the creases graually go away with wearing and moving around?

  13. Mine gets folded away in a box in the garage. I just put it on and ride, any creases are gone in no time. I don’t iron my socks either
