Hello All - New To Italian Exotica

  1. Evening All,

I signed up here as I've recently bought am about to start tarting up a 1996 748 Strada after spending 20 odd years playing with Japanese stuff and an occasional Triumph.

It's not in a bad state, 12000 miles and engine seems good. Needs a bit of cosmetic tarting (mainly wheels painting and forks re-anodising).

Went through the MOT before sale without any advisories so I'm going to give it a little spin at the weekend and then get the spanners out and see what else I find (fingers crossed nothing much). It's knocking on 22 years old and got 7 owners so I'll give it a good once over. I have a copy duke manual and know one end of a spanner from the other so should be ok.

I'm sure I'll be back picking peoples brains on here.

    Thanks

    Andy

  17. Cheers for the welcome peeps,

Pic as requested by XH558, not the best. I tucked it away in the parents garage at the moment as my garage is full until the new bigger garage is built in a few months.

Going to give it a good strip and clean and make a list of what wants doing then tick them off bit by bit.

Wheels and forks (upper anodized section) are going to want a tart up. I know of a painter for the wheels and have found some anodisers online but any options/advice on who can do this in Yorkshire would be appreciated.

Nose fairing has a bad repair and been painted (by a blind kid I think) so got to look at that. Not sure if recoverable or a new nose would be better.

    Thanks

    Andy
