Christ. The wait is killing me. I cant wait to hear the fancy pipe under load. I trust those guys to give a review over the major mags. 75 degrees this weekend, both the pani and the ape will be out over the weekend.
Definitely sounds like a good bike, I just hope they make a naked. Whilst not Ducatis fault, it's just a shame that even with stock exhaust that most of the UK track days will be out of reach. Odd how he still described the RSV4 as more fluid though, wonder what he meant by that
Thanks, I'm glad that's cleared up. Still, even with my special bike buying strategy guide I'm struggling to come to terms with £25k....or even £20k for the base model.
They are flying off the shelf so in 12 - 18 months time used prices should be fairly competitive... I’m guessing if they do bring out a Streetfighter it’s going to be a similar price.
Imagine a Streetfighter will be quite a bit cheaper to compete with the Superduke R's & Tuono's of this world. So around the £16k mark. I can see it happening, most likely have the slide control removed in favour of simplified TC system. Probably have a slightly less exotic engine parts, maybe stroked up to 1200cc for even more grunt. Could see a slightly cheaper base model with adjustable Showa suspension and an S model with the new electronic Ohlins from the Pani S. Pretty sure that would mean the end of the Monster 1200, which I'm guessing is why Ducati is nervous. Makes sense though, who actually buys the base Monster 1200? The 1200s is a great road bike if you ignore the stupid footpegs but it doesn't really compete with the Superduke/Tuono/S1000r. That free's up the Monster name to be used on a sportier version of the Scrambler 1100, just like they did with the Monster 797 and get the Monsters back to being air cooled!
