Though it might be interesting to keep people informed if anyone sees anything sell at a particularly high or low price at Auction. Here's a starter for you which surprised me from yesterday - with import duty and VAT that would have been around £83,000 + transport costs for a UK buyer and I didn't bid on a 1 owner 6000 miler that went for around £20K last year It also re raises the question when is a bike deemed as new - 14 miles (10 by the supplying dealer) is still a used bike after all - so a zero miler would have fetched how much! Last I heard of sold about 3 years ago went for £45K with zero miles... 25-01-18 Bonham's sale in Las Vegas Lot 175 US$ 92,000 £ 64,609 1990 Honda VFR750R Type RC30 Frame no. JH2RC3007LM2000118 Engine no. to be advised This RC30 is a beautiful street example that is reported to be in stunning, as new, un-raced condition, showing a mere 14 miles on the odometer. The story goes that the original dealer ran the bike for 10 of those miles before delivering it, the original owner only pushing it the additional four miles! The bike has been meticulously stored and maintained from new. The second owner, the seller, bought the bike in 2011 at an estate sale in Boston and is now downsizing his collection. It comes with the original owners manual, sales brochure, factory rear stand, unused tool kit, and the factory key. A never-to-be-repeated opportunity to acquire an as new RC30 with only 14 miles on the odometer.
And one I was watching from the same Auction... a 1 owner bike with history and less than 3000 miles... Lot 167 US$ 17,250 £ 12,114 2006 Ducati Sport Classic 1000 Paul Smart Edition Frame no. ZDM1WABP56B001584 Engine no. to be advised
Isn't that pretty reasonable for one of those nowadays Ex? Of course transport and import duty would bunk it up though.
Not sure I would look to the American market place for a value comparison. Unlike the car market, IMO, the American taste in ‘collectable’ motorcycles is different to those in Europe which skews the prices. Andy
The American market is generally behind ours on rare sportsbikes, but a Bonhams sale in Las Vagas is very much a global sale with a global shipper there on the day. I would hazard a guess this was a record price too. Most of the rare sportsbikes stock being brought in by our 'specialist' dealers is coming from a global market - so yes a good place to look. But the cost are high on top of the purchase price.

That my friend is a dangerous sport! For the record I think this is a good thread with a sound principle to it, so long as you realise what you are actually comparing / collecting (datawise).
Agree really useful thread Any confirmed info re sold prices has to be of use to both purchasers and sellers
If it was £12k over here I'd have pulled their arms off. But it isn't over here so would probably add 3-5k. Which I don't have at the moment! Bummer. I'd still like one though. Maybe next time.
