Tbh I would have been tempted but for two things: I’ve just spunked 16k on a car and it’s quite a lot over the miles range I had. Hence why a 996 would be in my price range Glws
That is one very very well priced 997 @Fire3500 , and I imagine should sell very quickly. If it were my car, would do the paint and price it higher in the national rags etc ?
If I do the paint I'll end up keeping it, as then it'll be all spangly and "new" again and I'll reconsider the dog acquisition and put some tyres on it and then feel like "just another year...". It's like ripping an Elastoplast off. If someone wants one then it's a great opportunity. It's a great low-price entry to 911 ownership.
As a back up to that, I looked at a 2006 4S with 112k and that was up for 24k. Dealer had been offered 20k and turned it down.
The Helmholtz resonator delete on the 996 is such a lovely modification. And, crucially, it will only cost you the price of a brasso bottle lid. I’ve had 8 996s and it’s one of the best things you can do to them. My last 996 which was just a ‘cooking’ 996 sounded better than my 996 GT3 most of the time just by removing the HHR.
Just to close this one out. Did a deal yesterday and the 997 is sorted. Nobody from this forum. New family truckster ordered and comes on Wednesday.
I walk past this regularly on my travels, on a street in Kensington. There is also a Cayenne GTS up the road with the plate B357 7OY.
I took it to be Toy, based on the other 7 being a T. Could be either i suppose. A few places up from the Porsche lives a Tesla Model X, all blacked out with 22" black rims, looks very nice.
Funny, don't agree with that at all. Think it looks more 'special' than the regular one, something different and exciting (911's are everywhere in Kensington).
