went into to my local dealer today and box fresh v4s looking for a buyer apparently. I can't afford it but keep reading you guys have got future build dates end of 2018 into next year. Only downside I'm in Jersey ! So you'd have sort out import etc Bikers, Jersey is the dealer. Looks mega in the flesh
Went to see my Ducati dealer today, and am a very happy chap. Got to sit on their demo V4s and have a proper look over it and poke and prod as required (will go for proper test ride in a week or two when, hopefully weather picks up, it was pissing it down today) and was told I should be looking at getting my Speciale April/May. Let’s hope Ducati stick to this schedule.
Hi Steve, when did you order your speciale ? I ordered mine end of November and have been told I’m looking at August ☺️
The initial allocation of Speciales for the UK was 78 or 2 per dealer. The build dates of the 2 for my dealer are July and August. Deposits for those were paid in February and October. I understand that one determining factor is if you chose the magnesium alloy wheel option. Spare a thought for those offered one from the 2nd allocation with build dates around November. Andy
I went for the standard wheels. Think I was fortunate as was told that others at same dealership are probably October delivery
Yeah I’ve gone for the standard too, I wasn’t given the option at all when the deposit went down and ducati apparently are saying that they can’t guarantee the gold wheels if I wanted them, I wounder if you will be able to buy as a accessory at a later date?
Odd, I had a phone call after Ducati UK requested dealers to specify which wheels were required. Trying to remember when but I think it was the Monday afternoon after the formal launch on the Sunday. I believe the magnesium alloy wheels are the same as those fitted to the Pangale 1199SL which were available if you have just under £6k. Andy
Strange that they seem to be a problem. Sure you could probably get more or less the same for less money. Ducati seemed to be charging quite a premium
If it’s the same as the 1299 SL carbon wheels, they are supposed to be unique to Ducati and not available separately from the wheel manufacturer. Having said that, the new wheel style frm BST looks vaguely similar . Andy
I’m just hoping they will have to offer them as a accessory at a later date in case there are any damaged wheels out on the road and need replacing. I thought there was a rule of some kind that stated spares had to be produced in the case of failures or damages

Yeah, same for new cars and bikes. Spares to a 'reasonable level' have to be produced and available for a period of 12 years
Hi steve, Please can we have picture of the 998r/d16/V4 together when the time comes as that would go down well
Took a lot of thought and dithering before I sold the 998R, but tended to always take the D16 out of the garage rather than the 998, so it just wasn’t getting used enough. Did seriously consider just keeping it anyway but in the end decided it was best for someone else to get the enjoyment from it. Just hope it hasn’t gone into a collection never to be ridden again, but chances are it has
i know what you are saying i was running three bikes in 2017, its nice to mix it up a bit but you have to keep on top of it
When the V4 arrives I’ll be back up to three. The D16 is an absolute keeper (although I seem to remember saying the same about the R) the Hypermotard is the one which may get chopped and changed in time. Would like to have kept more bikes over the years but don’t have the space and also don’t believe in bikes as just for display
