rossi seems to have spat his dummy out a bit with ducati & lets be honest who can blame him . ducati new what was needed last year with the 11.1 bike so why has it not bin sorted over winter maybe just me but how can two full factory bikes be so off the pace. when wsb checa so so quick on 1198 they seriously need to get there heads together & sort it out no one wants to VR running round in 10 place on a italian bike i am a big ducati fan but don't want to watch motogp when there bikes running round at back ov pack. hats off to nicky pushed hard & quiet a good finish its podiums we WANT to SEE
I reckon a nice big fat brown envolope slipped into lin jarvis's back pocket should do the trick! The above is wide open to some editing/quote!
Wot's all this hanging the leg off the bike, then? I can appreciate clambering all over the tank and holding the bike up with your knees and elbows (--- JP Ruggia) and even maybe the ears......but trailing a leg seems a bit bizarre to me...it isn't as though they are using it as a speedway rider would.....it's just hanging there...... .....Oh, I know....it's an airbrake..... AL.
Looked back at Hailwood, Read, Grant & Sheene on Youtube, makes interesting viewing, some knees, some not, definitely no elbows, just a few V signs, happy days!!
The only time I do that is when the lining of my leathers gets stuck to my thigh..........But I can see no earthly practical reason why they do it (not my leathers sticking to my leg)........ I have done plenty of hanging off in my time, on track not on road........and have come close to elbow scraping..... I have climbed up onto the petrol tank and stamped on it to get round corners........You ever tried pushing a 1000RX??? The Ducati SS, I admit needs a different style of riding....I don't know if it is the same for all Ducatis.......but I sprawl across the tank and put as much weight forward as I can in corners..... .......but hanging a leg off, in my mind is the first stage in preparing for a hip replacement op.........snag, rip, squelch, pop..... AL.
Known as "the Rossi Rudder", or, my personal favourite, "the Doctor's Dangle". The assumption is that it helped him transfer more weight over the rear of the bike under braking. But the reality may be that it was an instinctive personal thing for him, which everyone then copied down to pizza delivery scooters around roundabouts, but which gives no demonstrable advantage: The Truth Behind The Rossi Leg Wave | MotoMatters.com | Kropotkin Thinks
It largely disappeared last year given his lack of confidence in the bike. When it reappeared at Losail in testing this year it was thought to be a symptom of his increased comfort on the new frame - I guess it transpires he was just trying to kick Barbera...
Few posts from Briggs answering questions from tweeters......... we are so far away from that time I'm afraid. Bikes are built for tires now, computers have advanced along way. because he can not use it in the way he wants. The way he wants to ride wins championships. There r some positives I can scrape together. Its the 1st time we actually finish a race in a while. Lap times in the last 1/2 were not bad. We are all disappointed. The rider let his feelings be know and his frustrations are felt by all of us
Has anyone got comparative lap times at Losail from various Desmosedicis? How does Capirosi's last 990cc bike compare to Stoners championship 800 and to Hayden/Rossi this year and last?
Not sure what it says about Rossi, but it does make Stoner look pretty fast on the bike others struggled with. Apologies if I've got any of these Losail quail times wrong, must be the floodlights! Now could it just be that the bike's set up is very sensitive to tyres as they are hoping at the moment?
