Dear god, this countries obsession with speed (Making cops money) is fucking ludicrous. There was some do gooding jobsworth trying to get promoted, dick of a copper on the radio yesterday, saying abolish the 10% leeway on speeding, and screw anyone doing 1mph over on any road. Country has gone mad, and it is so clearly about money and not safety. He stated that road deaths in the last 10 years have dropped ? Well of course they have, cars are safer and fewer people die in them, but look at the history of accident numbers, and they remain virtually unaltered since 20 years back, kinda proving that cameras do fuck all and being inside a car has a got a whole lot safer. The UK road network and its obsession with speeders is just pissing everyone off !!
This is all tabloid fodder as far as I can tell. Has anyone reputable shed any light on this? Not the ACPO, I said someone reputable, dammit!
Go on then @Loz, fuel up and get out there and do some consumer research. All I know for sure is there has never been a better time to be a burglar in the UK. Its open season.

Didn’t a Chief cop recently state he wanted everyone that does even 1mph over the limit to be fined and get points Sure cars will be driving themselves soon
we do all need to get a handle on this now, I did M25 a month ago and average speed was still around 80. If they have decided to do mass-enforcement then it will soon start to show in general traffic top speed as NIPs start to arrive.
