So what have you done today..?

  1. Rats will chew through most materials that are used in buildings, they can chew through bloody concrete and can crawl through a thumb sized hole.

They have problems with mesh, chicken type mesh, they cant chew it, use it in openings as part of the filling. Also, they hate steel wool, brillo pad type stuff, mix it with any filler. You can track them through the markings they leave from their coats. If they get in the cavity wall, you need to close the eaves, they will eat their way up to the roofspace/loft. They hate ammonia, no surprise there.

I had the pleasure of dealing with them on several projects and they are determined buggers, cause a lot if damage and are very difficult to get rid off.

  2. Electronic traps ordered.... I can't / won't do poison.

  5. When the estate we live on decided to keep barley straw in the barn the rats turned up - I didn’t use poison as outside and the dogs one being a jack russell are a bit sharp with the rats so no major issue anyway.
Anyway walking through the dinning room there is a rat sunning it’s self-indulgent on the back lawn it’s summer so the windows are wide open !

Problem solved with an ounce load of No 6 the shotgun comes out.

One very dead rat - one very dirty carpet in the dinning room - the little lady having just made us two cups of coffee walked in a I pulled the trigger - apparently it’s not good firing a 12 gauge in the dinning room with out warning - cost me a hire of a carpet doctor for the weekend

  7. Ordered 6off Electronic rat catchers.... Kill humanely (is that an oxymoron?).
Had our IQ300 Siemens dishwasher fixed for the 4th time in 5 years (under warranty), so ordered 2off replacement pumps/heaters at £70 each ready for next time.
Fired 6 shots into the ceiling, no dead rats.... 6 holes in roof.

  17. Still think the seat looks shit. They should have given it a single seat like Triumph's Bobber. You could buy 65 Bobbers for that.

  18. Had a car enter my lane yesterday. Leant on the horn but the driver had no idea and I can’t even hear the horn over the wind and motor noise on my action cam.
