What are our fairings 900ss-sl 92-98 made from ?

  1. Ha Ha! I think there is a market for SS/SL mono seat pads. Corbin no longer make them (so i believe)

  2. Brancato do them

  3. Ducati dealers still do them, with all the brackets etc that is where i got mine from, i think it came to £150ish for everything, worth having a look as they don't come up that often, sometimes on the US Ebay but that is just a pain!

  4. They do! And IIRC it all comes to less than £150, but I thought OP was looking for something 'different'. First port of call for ANY SS part should the dealer, before coming on here looking for a source, or worse still buying 'rare' i.e. shagged parts on eBay for more ££ than a new one off the dealer shelf. Loads of stuff is still available albeit with updated part numbers from what you may have in a period parts book.

I have both Brancato and new OEM so one or the other will be for sale at some point.

  5. the SL seatpad that's now unavailable is the shallow one rather than the 3 inch thick sofa :)

  6. That'll be mine then ! The ones used on the MK1 , fortunatley I have mine

  7. Brancato do them

    (thin ones)

  8. I doubt the Brancato ones are anything like the originals , as the originals are injection moulded pu with the the nuts captivated in the pu, have you got a pic of the Brancato ones ?

  9. I'll take a pic. They are dense foam rubber, like race seats, on a base (I forget the base material) that has captive bolts that take the OEM seat (fuel tank) supports, so the opposite way round to the OEM seat mounting if you see what I mean. I think I prefer them to the 'sofa' type.

  10. Yep, i have the sofa ones on mine, very comfortable in comparison to the OEM dual seat.

  11. Hm.... I'd have to disagree there. My "sofa" pad give me a num bum, where as the original seat is quite comfortable by comparison

  12. You obviously have a fatter bum than paul......he's lanky streak with a tiny a*** (not that I have seen it, you understand.....)

...and my OEM seat was quite comfortable...not quite so much, since I took an inch out of it....

    AL.

  13. Too much information Al

  14. LOL. It's actually quite boney if you must know, but I'm of a fairly robust construction which means the pressure is probably higher

  15. I have the sofa type on mine too and it's like sitting on a bloody anvil!
