I'll be at Silverstone this year again, but on the Multi as I will have sold the 999 by then ( hopefully) . Ill have to find the baffle for the SC Projects can as she's a bit loud !!
Although I didn’t see anyone turfed off the circuit last year, it was the first Ducati day that noise had been muted as an issue. A couple of Silverstone people were wondering around the pits trying to get us to have a noise test. Mine was 105db static but knowing where the drive by microphones were, I did tend to delay getting on the throttle as I passed them. Andy
bugger i had silverstone booked for 29th May and had to cancel and change to august - this May date would have been ok though. The July Donington one would suit so will try and get booked on that.
Probably will Adam, I am not a great fan of Donnington circuit, however i do love the Ducati track days, meeting and talking to owners.
He had the temerity to overtake an average rider who should never have been in the fast group to begin with and spooked him. The laugh was, that the California Super Bike instructor took 3 laps to catch the cookster and then it was in the pit lane. Laugh ? we nearly wet ourselves. Andy
Bloody cheek! and then I bet CSB said: "OYYY Barry Sheene!!! What the Fook do you think your doing? "
IIRC the price includes a bacon roll on arrival and lunch so not bad in comparison to what is being charged by the venue for a normal teack day. Andy
It's not the loaded price that bothers me, it's the huge and shambolic grouping. If you're going for a social and a nosey at the bikes, then i'd suggest just pop in and have a look about. If you want track-time then go with another organiser or book with Silverstone direct.
Last year we were warned that it would be 105db static or 102db drive by. In the end, noise testing was voluntary and we were all made aware of where the microphones were on track. No-one to my knowledge was black flagged for noise and there was a huge variety of bikes. Andy
Thanks Andy, I use a ZX6r 636 as my track day bike but would love to get the 959 on track this year.. but a lot of circuits black flag them.. I'd assume its not more than a 102 drive by..
