Waterproof Bag - Luggage

  1. With the side pannier frame fitted I'd suggest Touratech soft bags made by Ortlieb. Or there back-pack or dry bag gear shown on the right hand-side in first image. Coupled with some rok-straps!

The right-hand flexi-pannier bag was massaged into position & would be zip tied on the plastic notched holders. As its really designed for a flat facing mount like the left one.

  2. Thanks for that. You may have talked me round to the Endustrian.

  3. Fairly sure they are the same bag as Givi and KTM when I look at it now ?? Bloody good kit though, and when you get where your going, simply unclip at bag end of strap, and run them under the seat. I always find the worse thing is getting to a place and having to unclip a million bungees or straps, this just suited my needs, and I believe they do a big bugger as well if you wanna go for that house moving size one you mentioned earlier ?? :upyeah:

  4. I think I've been talked out of the shipping container sized bag.

  5. When we went to Barca last year, one of the lads had a 70 litre BMW drybag on the back of his GS (with big metal panniers as well) and the 70 Ltr looked fecking enormous, and the lad said it did make his bike really top heavy. I didn't want to mention that he is quite rotund and it may not be the bag !!

(PS. I did two weeks in Spain a couple of years back, and like to travel well kitted, but two panniers and 40 litres was more than enough :upyeah:)

  6. @Wayne58 can you send me your general packing list for a 2 week trip, if you don't mind?

  12. That’s why I can’t take the missus away on the bike. She refuses to travel light. Got to have hair dryer, straighteners, dresses, heels...

Probably the same as Wayne’s list ;)

  13. I took two Kriega 10l and a 20l when we went to South Italy and would never bother taking so much again. The bike actually went really well including a little top speed test in Germany but it was so much better once I was able to get the luggage off that I didn't want to put it back again! One of the ten litre bags had a five litre fuel can in as I was worried about the ~100 mile a tank fuel range on the Panigale but I didn't use it at all. I'm not interested in travelling super light and stinking like a back packer in the same set of underwear for days on end as I dont think that is necessary on a bike plus I like to always have my laptop with me but ~40-50 litres including a small rucksack is plenty enough luggage space to live well for a few weeks.

  15. @Robarano , this was pretty much my list for 2 weeks, but to be really honest, was slight overkill, and looking back, probably dont need that much....

Can I just point out, on this trip we were staying somewhere, and when I have done trips that require riding daily, I have taken less..... So there Gimlet and JH !! :D

Bike papers (Insurance + V5 + passport, details of routes and hotels iirc), disc lock, ear plugs and very small tool kit (chain adjuster + mini lube spray etc)
Thin water proof over top for the inevitable Santander to Bilbao piss down
1 pair of Kevlar jeans for when the temperatures rise a bit
9 pairs jeans, thats all I had, and think 4-5 would have been ok
    I think I had 10 T-shirts and 7-8 short sleeve shirts.
    1x jumper
    1x lightish weight coat.
Every pair of boxer/trunks I owned, I think there was 25 ish ??
Every pair of socks I owned, including 8 large MotoGP boot socks, iirc , i had over 25 pairs of socks.
    1 pair of timberlands
1 pair of Puma trainers (cause, I is darn wif tha youf !!)
    1 pair of shoes
1x towel in case any hotel had none.
    1x tablet + a phone
A carrier sized ish bag for toiletries (Normal shit plus lecky tooth brush, charger, shaver etc etc)
Plus the bike gear I was in when I set off.

I think that was about it, and that filled both panniers and a 40 litre bag on the back.

  16. PS @Robarano , there's probably other niff naff stuff and if I think of it, will post up, but I think this was the lions share of it. We are going again in April, and as we are on the move daily, think I'll cut back a bit on my jeans and shirts :upyeah:

Waiting by the ferry at Pompey, hence why i ordered the SW motech bag
