Could the company lease a bike for, say, marketing purposes? My brother has had to finance the company with his own money at times, and so the company owes him, but getting the money back isn't always easy. The reason he's thinking along the company bike line is to get some of that money back, but I wonder if he'd be better off buying it privately and leasing it to the company - that way he'd get his money back through rental, 'safety clothing', etc. Does that sound do-able?
sounds like hes a limited company and therefore a director, so dont know about leasing to his own company? , just bought some bike gear and helmet, if it said arco instead of j&s motorcycles i love to give it a shot
Exactly that. I'm sure it'd be okay to lease a bike, but whether the company can lease it from him is the question I guess.
Bikes are treated just like any other commercial vehicle, vans, trucks etc.As long as its used purely for business you should be ok.And btw,I picked up quite a lot of new business by turning up on my H-D Deuce for meetings with potential Clients....aaah Chrome....
I started a thread like this ages ago. Small limited company with he bike owned by the company, insured, taxed and fuel all paid by said company. I get charged £500 of my tax code as the bike is my 2*nd vehicle. Also it is insured for class 1. Business. Use, adds about £120. Used for company sites visits, couldn't use it for engineering works as I carry about 1800kg of tools needed spares. PS I would love to see what vosa would do to you if you tried that sidecar trick in the UK. Pps you cannot take compressed gases on the underground (or in a lift).
