Should i get a CBR600F 2006 model?????

  1. I've been here before, last year(2012) and year before i had 2 bikes, a Bandit 1200 and a Kawasaki GPZ500, i loved both but forever felt guilty about my general prefered choice(always choosing the more powerful bandit!) come daily use, which left the other bike being ridden just once or twice a week out of sympathy even tho i loved the GPZ and its old skool charactor and it was in constant use before i got the Bandit. Sadly i traded the bandit in for a new Suzuki SV650, which was alot like the GPZ only better at everything they did, so logic told me to sell the GPZ. So down to 1 bike and i began to enjoy solely having just the one. 2months later i sold the SV back to the dealer as i just didn't click with it, and the crap plating finish on bolts, callipers etc i wasn't putting up with, not when it started corroding after 2 months! So with the money i bought my beloved Ducati Monster Dark 600!
Only now, 9 months later i've suddenly developed the bug to own another bike, almost bought a Transalp 650 model for £1750, but head over heart told me its too simillar to what the Monster is(bhp, torque, mpg, speed, handling etc) so regrettedly i passed. BUT a CBR600F has suddenly popped up, '06 plate, lady owner for 4 yrs, 13k miles, and £2900. I'm so tempted, but at the same time wonder if its a mistake going to 2 bikes again, as i can see my monster being sat there mon-fri and the CBR600F taking priority for transport to work and places. The logic being its much more user friendly commuting in the mornings(no grumpy engine when cold like the monsters is!)and i have to get my moneys worth/use out of the CBR, plus its user-friendly, better headlights etc etc.
Has anyone else been in the same situation? I have no garage so the bikes will be kept under a car port that has a locked gate at the front but is open to the elements at the rear that leads into the back garden, here's a pic of it when i had the bandit and gpz.

  3. You can never have too many bikes in the garage, variety is the spice of life.:upyeah:

  4. My sister-in-law is selling her '57 plate Suzuki GSR600, in blue, 8k miles for £2500. Very clean bike.

She is selling as she has a GSXR600 now.

    If interested pm me.

  5. I don't know how I'm gonna cope with only one bike once I sell the fuglystrada. Multi-bikes is the way forward:upyeah:

Now I've got the Guzzi, which is a cool sunday bike, I need something fast and lairy to keep my heartrate up. I feel another sportsbike coming on...

  6. Thanks final_edition but i did look at those when i sold my SV back to the dealer but it wasn't what i was looking for. I've wanted a CBR600F('01 on) for a while now as i've read good review upon good review about them, even before i had the Sv, its just now i've found a nice one i'm doubting whether its the right thing to do having 2 bikes again when 1 seems to work quite well. But secretly in my mind i'd always like another.
My parents said last year i should panel the rear of the car port to better seal it against the weather, i guess looking at it in the pic it could work well, its just not the best time of year to be working on doing it.
I'd love if i had a dry, damp-free garage i wouldn't worry about having 2 bikes as the other could sit there in the dry and wouldn't bother me, but when its in the car port thats open to the elements its the same as leaving a bike outside, they get wet, at least to an extent. And one(more expensive one) will always take priority and get the driest spot with easiest access out of the front gate.
I think in reality i'm worried if i get another more modern bike that starts, idles, pulls away smoothly and feels planted on the road as well as other stuff that comes with a CBR, it'll make my monster feel old and i then begin questioning whether to keep her, yet while i solely own the monster i enjoy it every time i see it and ride it and even work on it, even tho its really not the best commuter choice which is its main use. 8-10 miles a day commute(4 or 5 miles each way) plus random 20+mile trips further afield plus weekend ride-outs and blasts. About 400-500 miles a month i do.

  7. i bought a cbr1000f a couple of years back to commute on.Great bike and did everything i needed it to-and it was quite nippy too! I now have no need for it and is up for sale. 1991 model H plate. Givi topbox, clean and tidy.

    pm me if interested.

  8. Ah, see Figaro, you've accepted its a sunday bike and so you need another for the week, but if i get the CBR its certainly not a sunday bike, and neither is the Monster 600, so they're stepping on each others toes as top dog.

  9. whoops!pic didnt come out for some reason! will have another go!

  10. Ah, seems ok now!

  11. But I don't ride in the week - hey that don't stop me hankerin'.

No, I need something fast to blast down autobahns. No good even considering taking the Guzzi when when my regular riding buddy has just bought a Panigale:frown:
