Just noticed this, its not correct. Servicing options are threefold... 1) Return to factory 2) There will be a network of CCM approved mechanics around the country who will come to you to service at your location. 3) Doing the service yourself is also okay and will not invalidate the warranty as long as parts used are sourced from CCM.
Not to my knowledge, though I believe first ones should go out this month. There’s a large number of almost completed bikes sitting at CCM waiting for fuel tanks...
That’s a bummer, which one were you waiting for, the original? I’ve only put down a £500 deposit on the FT06, happy to sit and wait and see.
I was going to get the spitfire scrambler. I had paid in full last August With the anticipation of the original delivery in September/november.
That wasn’t the case when I posted last year, their web site only provided the return to factory option for servicing. Perhaps in response to the negetive feedback they received. Andy
Hmm. The reason I asked is that I have just paid my £500 deposit on a FT6. I certainly can't afford to lose £10k.
What a stroke of luck you have had, to get your money back. If they had gone bankrupt since then, you would have been left to whistle as an unsecured creditor.
It’s possible I might have been thinking differently if I’d paid in full, fortunately not though! Think they’ve been caught out by demand and then the tank issues. It’s perhaps surprising however that they’re launching the Bobber variant when they haven’t delivered any of the other four variants yet. Wonder what delivery estimate they’ll give to prospective Bobber buyers...?
I may be wrong, but I have no real concerns about them going bankrupt. CCM have been around a long time, this is hopefully just uncomfortable growing pains.
I just feel they underestimated the amount of hipsters there are and announced the bike before any were ready. I hope they catch up and owners get what they paid for.
Shame you couldn’t have hung on a little bit longer as first customer bikes are now being delivered. Very first a day or two ago. I was at Bike Shed earlier in the week and spoke to one of the CCM Directors who was there, he thought my July estimate or very close to it should still work. Every time I get up close to the Spitfire it just makes me anticipate the Tracker’s arrival more keenly...
Says they're planning to move to a bigger factory in 2019. Doesn't sound like they're going bankrupt.
