Bike back in me garage :-)

  1. Just got my 749 back from Carl Harrison m/c @ Harleston and most happy that I'm now good to go once weather improves a touch. Lots of work carried out, a few probs sorted, fully serviced and bike picked up and returned from right across the county (3 to be precise actually - Essex to Norfolk). Big thumbs up to CH (thanks to those that recommended them) and can't wait to get in a "proper" ride:smile:.

  2. Dont hold your breath....snows coming!

  3. Thanks.....at least it's not been raining for a few days

  4. Yeah saw that:frown:.

    Still the anticipation remains!!

  5. Carl is a top fella !!!!
Can't fault him and the guys :)
Mine are due to go on holiday there this year .
I do however feel so so sorry if James has to test ride my " only gay bike in the village " .

    Glad bike is sorted!

  6. Yeah - seem a top bunch. Got loads of knowledge / happy to listen and advise as necessary. Bike is back on its life support in the garage waiting for it to warm up (a lot!!)
    What's with the ogbitv?

  7. What needed doing as this can only be a few hundred miles from its last service?

  8. Hi again 749. Bike needed new chain and sprockets (chain could be pulled back off rear sprocket after being adjusted and front sprocket quite chewed - was original equipment (i think) so had done pretty well ). New clutch basket and new stack as was on way out (clutch pretty quiet now). Belts were loose and the leak was from the rocker cover? - stone wedged in it prob when top put back on. New bulb sorted the light (as we thought). Got the clearances checked (all good) and changed oil / filter whilst were at it. Also balanced throttle bodies. Nothing disastrous and just waiting for some warmer weather - too cold with no gloves!! Plus trying to sort a quick fix for slippy seat lol. Hope you're still enjoying the 955?

  9. Surprised at belts being loose as had just been done before you had her, also surprised at throttle bodies needing adjusting as Parkys told me had given her a nice setup.Ps waste of oil and filter as could only have done a couple hundred miles on what you binned.
pps looking forward to a weather change

  10. As for the seat it such a shame as I took off the triboseat before you came to see as thought it looked horrible

  11. Actually if you mean the riders seat I know I guy who trims them in alcantara for about £65

  12. Yeah is the riders seat that I need to sort - bit like the roads this morning lol. Re-trimming would be a possibility, although it seems that getting the seat off is a major faff? ('specially one handed), but something I can look into.
O&F prob not needed but just thought get stuff done whilst bike apart - ran fine before as we know, still runs fine and fingers crossed it stays that way lol. Back to seat lol - as a stop gap might see if there is any kind of grip tape to go on seat (or tech spec do something). Triboseat do a rider pad also but then still got prob of getting under seat - might just undo the four bolts and gently see how far the seat hinges up (there's all sorts attached at the front per other posts)
    Cheers:smile:
