Will post a couple of photos of the couple of sets I've had painted later @Ryan... As @cookster mentioned earlier, you should end up with a better finish I wet painted but paint isn't quite as durable as powder coated... Another positive for getting them painted is you will also be able to request the painter makes you a little touch up bottle up at the same time.
That’s a lovely colour - looks very OEM, not too shouty. Do you have the paint code? I’m very tempted to add a bit of bling - if you can’t add bling to a Ducati where can you add it!?
What the hell has he done to lower that front end? It reminds me of when I "slammed" my old RS2000 by cutting 1 1/2 rings of the front coil springs out.
I think they have to be the correct gold, which is for me the Tricolore and StreetFighter S (Black model) colour wheels.
Cattle grid in the Trough of Bowland near the brew cabin. Bottomed out over a jump and the grid ripped the whole baseplate off the sump
Unfortunately I don't have the paint code for them, the two sets are actually slightly different shades as the painter mixes each batch by eye prior to painting. Got a touch up bottle from Mrs M's batch for the monster wheels after picking up little stone chip on mine and struggling to get a decent colour match from various paint suppliers locally... Managed to get one close enough in the end but not perfect match by any stretch of the imagination.
Trying to get the right shade of gold is tricky. It's personal taste at the end of the day but I'm not too keen on trying to match the ohlins gold as it can look a bit too orange on the wheels. I've got genuine 1098R wheels on my 1098S which is called 'Palini gold' I believe. They are more of a champagne gold. I bought my 749S with the wheels already painted. They were painted by Pro Twins, so I would imagine they are a stock colour.
I know this was your previous bike simmy, but was that a genuine ‘R’ fuel tank or a some brushed aluminium decals? Do you also need to change the sub frame to fit a R tank as they mount differently at the back don’t they?
