Haven’t had clean licence for decades, just got 3pts at mo for 39/30 in my van on local A road that goes from 40-30-40-30 in 3 miles. Not sure what bit Im in sometimes.
agree with aircon, nice figure of speech. I am awaiting a letter from my last trip to N Ireland where a van was waiting over the brow of a hill in a 50 zone where a crawler lane disappears (so I guess it is rich pickings for folks trying to just squeeze past the last tractor/truck). Also waiting to see if the new style cameras on the side of the motorway are set for when variable speed limits are off. So zero for now, possibly 6 in the next few weeks. prior to that never carried more than 6 at any one time. Pete
Just glad other drivers give a headlight flash to warn of a camera van especially in and around york, Selby etc
Top of Sutton Bank last year, camera van at usual place on a long straight. 1-2 miles after, another camera van for good measure! Could have been very nasty.
Currently only 3 for CD10, but sadly, have not had a clean license since 1986, was due to be spanking clean on the 21st May 2017, and I got the CD10 on a bike on the 16th May. Gutted as I had even bought a posh bottle of wine to celebrate come the 21st. Hey Ho, another 4 years
Squeaky clean Although I did a speed awareness course a couple or so years back for 38/30. 4 hours of my life I'll not get back.
At one point I had 9, all for speeding but had none for quite a few years. Now back to 3 (speeding again)..The bloody Gixxer made me do it
Was half expecting a nip while I was away the last week. Onfacing Police Van in centre marked reservation as if turning right. I sped up a bit to get out his way then saw it was stationary with camera out the back. 3 weeks ago now, so not sweating.
That is the bit about scammers vans that annoy me. The a65 is double white lines for miles and miles. You follow car drivers and farmers, stuck behind them doing 40 in a 60 limit because the drivers are too busy dawdling along looking at sheep and listening to radio 4.Then on the first straight bit of road , they speed up to 60mph so you go for it, only for there to be a camera van sat in the lay-by . I very nearly saw a 3 car pile up due to the so called "road safety van." as the front car slammed the brakes on to avoid a fine. I was going to go back and give the operator a mouthful about near causing a crash but my missus wouldn't let me.
Nil points Never had any in 35 years but did do a speed awareness course for being snapped in a hire car
3 for me... 46 in the average speed camera section (40 limit) of the A66 @ 3am. Didn't get offered the speed awareness course as it was a few days within the two year period since I did my previous one.
