Uh-oh: Rossi disses Ducati (inc Qatar spoilers)

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by Cobbett, Apr 9, 2012.

  1. I thought I'd read somewhere that Ducati were very positive when designing the new GP12 as they could immediately build it around the new Bridgestone tyres? If they've managed to cock that up then what hope have they got.

Has there been an official ducati statement yet? Or do you reckon Alex's tweets are all were gonna get?

  2. Isn't it in 3 races time that the new tyres turn up?

  3. Everyone has the new rears now it's the fronts that'll be 3 races

  4. Yup about as funny as the Stoner v Rossi posts have been interesting for the last 5 year.

There's little point in getting on to people for making light of the situation, when truth be known, no matter how great a rider Rossi is, he's coming to the twilight years of his career, on a machine that just can't cut it among the elite machines and if he chooses to ride the sausage then so be it.

I'd love to see Rossi turn the Ducati around, but I'm not about to flame people about their light hearted humour when he doesn't.

  5. M Walker.... " and look Sheene is actually waving at Roberts!"

    Quality.

  6. IMO I think Rossi could run with the top riders if he were on the yam.

It was also interesting to hear his comments about the Ducatis-more or less saying that they never listened to his ideas.

Look how well biaggi & Checa are doing in WSB. At their age too lol. Granted its not motogp bikes they are on, but battling at the front at every race or there about. Even against younger and hungry for victory riders indicates that if you get the bike right your rolling.

  7. Diss Rossi all you like no problem, but the gay thing is a very tired subject and done to death is more my point. Not a problem with dissing Rossi per se.

  8. Ha ha,

Like I said I'd like to see Rossi turn the bike around and because I'm not homophobic either, him being gay doesn't upset me in the least.

The Stoner / Rossi thing's not tired tho eh?

Oh and in case you mis interpreted it I didn't knock Rossi just mentioned what is currently the case and I also said leave uccio out of it.....

  9. Nah, it's only just woken up! Blame Gilps for starting the thread

It's mostly just good fun and banter, like between Imola and I, occasionally a nose gets out of joint - same as anywhere really.

S'all (mostly) good fun, no one has a gun held to their head and is forced to read it etc etc in fact, I believe people have a choice to block someone if they want. Then they won't see any of their posts - brilliant.

  10. Oh don't you start!!!

Now where's that block button?

  11. Who said that?!

  12. No subject matter not tired in the least, if for no other reason than to prod TP cos Lorenzo won.

Rossi has to take some flack because he was riding the bike. You can only blame the bike to a point but the activities of his bottom didin't figure in the result to my knowledge.

Uccio is about to marry by the way.

  14. And a good win too; he stayed committed right til the end.

Oi! You'd miss me anyway

  15. interesting, so show of hands, can they make it work or should they give it up as a bad job ?

i'm in the stick it out at least to the end of the season camp. At least it's aired and out in the open now so maybe that will be an incentive in itself.

  16. Three more races, maybe. Then if they've shown no more signs of progression, leave the door open for Rossi to leave and pull in some young spunker who'll ride the wheels off the thing. That should suit both parties.

Somehow, though, I've a feeling they'll pull something out of the hat.

  17. Stick at it and make it work!

Both parties have a massive dilemma which ever way they decide.

Who would want to pick the pieces up at Ducati, except an unknown rider with his big chance, a big gamble for Ducati and their sponsors.

And Rossi on a CRT machine anyone?

  18. I suspect Rossi has finally gone public to try and force Ducati to make all the changes he wants.

I also suspect the 90 deg V maybe part of this as there is not much else they can change.

If there is a parting of ways, the biggest losers will be Ducati as who would want to ride the bike that only rider has ever made work...... and even he complained about it.
