Well, in a pub, folks would find it difficult to tune you out if you're nearby. This could lead to misunderstandings. Consider how easy it is to tune out people you don't like, here on the Forums. Assuming you're not too lazy to use the Ignore function or that you are not secretly trying to shit-stir. I believe some people do that passive-aggressive thing in the mistaken belief that they are "above such things". Those guys are hilarious!
we talked about this before, loz. people have dropped out of voting mostly because they have lost faith in uk politics, tbh, i don't blame em either, traditionally we have low turn outs up here, mostly because our votes rarely count in uk elections. not because they agree or disagree with the majority. you could atake that further and ask, what about those that are not deemed eligible to vote because of age who will be affected most?, yet in an aging society, those of an age where maybe they aint quite all there can still vote, and quite often by proxy, a bit worrying that people like khan, can go around Scottish care homes scaring people about losing their pension no?
Yeah, but I'm uncertain whether you listen to me the same way I listen to you. Heh. So how do we count the votes of non-voters? Or do we only only act upon decisions where near-enough 100% of electors have actually voted? Have you thought this through, finm? Are you suggesting in-utero voting here, finm? How is that going to work? Don't get started on Khan - that way lies madness.
i seem to remember you listening quite clearly.going by yer response how do we count non voters? just add em on the "out" vote, like you did 10mins ago. no, i suggest we give credit where its due and follow our example of giving 16year old's the vote.
Is that 16-y/o's with life experience? Emancipated minors? Or 16-y/o's living at home, with little or no life/work experience and little responsibility for paying the bills and who will either vote the way their parents vote, or against the way they voted, depending upon whether they are shouting "It's SO unfair!" at the ballot box?
hmm, paying bills? how many brexiters at the top go out their way to pay their tax bills?, must of been a real pisser for them when they found out the EU was starting down the way of tax avoidance legislation. anyhoos i rate my kids ability to think on these things, even at the age of 9 and 12. like most things, if you want yer kids to excel and participate in, in life, start em off young. not unless yer a wee bitty worried that there is now more millennials than baby boomers running the risk of scuppering your/our generation of free loaders and conservative ways.
Deflection - check OK, not 16-y/o's then. 9-y/o's? What about 8-y/o's who are quite grown up for their age? My boys were both quite sophisticated at age 8, perhaps I should have put them on the Electoral Register?
hmm, sure its from 16yrs here, but if you wanna campaign for 8year old's to get the vote, then fill yer boots.
I'm not sure I am ready to do that. Perhaps you could explain why 16-y/o's should get to vote on their futures but 8-y/o's should not? Help a fella out, will ya?
by the time they are sixteen, they will have experienced, not only 16years of government, but also 11years schooling, expected to make big life choices re employment and further education, pay taxes etc.24HR NEWS CHANNELS. but canny put a tick in a box
As exie says. EU procurement rules stopped this contract being awarded to a UK company. So you now agree it's best to leave the EU so that we can invest unhindered in the UK.
Interesting video. Big question - Why Nagasaki? Why not Clydebank, Tyneside, Merseyside, Portsmouth etc? We used to build 100's of ships WTF happened? BREXIT, in/Out EU is a sideshow compared to the question of our ongoing industrial decline....and one that needs to be addressed PDQ if we are to fully prosper in a wider Global economy.
