  1. Nice, pleased for you that the weather was kind for you, nice day on Friday, sort of dry on Saturday, and today was superb, sunshine all day! roads where nice and dry today, arrived in Abergavenny around 1 I think, at least 200 bikes at the café near the bus station, but that's normal, always a big meet on sunny days there, spoke to lots of people who just like me enjoyed their first riding day of the new season. Omg I so missed this weather, very pleased to be on the bike again, I hope you enjoyed your Welsh weekend Andy! yes 3 punctures in one day must be a new record, certainly a new tyre is justified. how long did your fork seals last for then, is that a weak spot on the multi?

  2. Fork seals are less than a year old and yes Ohlins have a reputation. I think I've been unlucky this time. 4th time we've been on this regular Walea trip and it's always good fun. Andy

  3. Had a nice day out at Volksworld in Sandown Park, lots of cracking VW's and a weird bike lol

Did a lap of Oliver’s Mount......stopped in Malton for coffee and cake on the way back.....and lo and behold, the market place filled with bikes and scoots on the Easter Egg run....brilliant!

  5. Years ago Sandown Park used to be one of my annual highlights. VW scene got a bit precious and pricey... still got my earlybay but sold the 53 bug, 67 panelvan and old school DKP style 66.

Whoever built the bike deserves their trucker cap setting alight.

  6. Today I unleashed a winter’s worth of pent up frustration by hooning around Perthshire and fife like a complete f’ing twat.
Sorry for getting you all a bad name. :pensive:

  7. Still, at least you weren't on a bicycle, clad like a fat version of Bradley Wiggins in lycra and spouting self-righteous claptrap.

  8. Can't disagree with you there...it is getting more and more pricey and dare I say it...snobby! I only have a 1973, 1200cc Beetle which is meh... apparently coz its not a 1960 something Splitty bus. Ah well, I like my Beetle and would love a Splitty but can't afford one :(

Not sure how you ride the bike, strange leg to seat to handlebar ratio's.

  9. I was being polite about it all. Time was that we all bought cheap VWs and made the best of them, taiwanese parts and all.

Something happened in the late 90s and all this "authentic" snootiness kicked in, and it's been downhill since then. Scenesters smell money and move in...

At least with Ducatis we kind of know we are a bit tragic on one hand and like teenage kids on the other. Very little posturing really.

  11. point taken:upyeah:

  12. Woke early, posted a few things on here, as I haven't for some time.
Saw father in law for breakfast. (94 and doing well).
Bought Aldi 6w solar panel, I have a cunning plan for it.
Visited mum (92 also doing well) and sister (looks unbelievably young).
Visited mother-in-law (92) now in care home out of necessity.
Sad to see her like a Sparrow in a wheelchair but made her perk up, smile and laugh.
Young Irish girl came in and did a fantastic Irish jig for us. A little ray of sunshine that came out of nowhere, lovely Irish accent too. Brilliant.
Grabbed bags and wife, left the country. Silver bird out of here.
Enough of this rain and threat of impending snow.
Off to see my elder brother, another brush with 'The Big C'.

Life is what you make it though. We're going for a ride.
