    Desmosedici Ouch!

  7. Is it better now?

  8. Oh that's a very old photo.
It was rebuilt by JHP, gas flowed as it was lacking grunt and fitted with the GP7 exhaust then mapped to suit. This is it rebuilt, it has been up on here or another site before, apologies for repetition, turn your speakers up & click on the image below.

  9. There is no need to apologise for that beauty some of us could look and listen day in day out.

the wife says I can have one but I have to empty my toy cupboard to get it.

  10. Higgy, that's nice work. Very impressive.

    royum, nasty.

  11. I must state that I did not repair it myself It was done by an engineering firm called AMAC in Northallerton North Yorks. Still good value £440 including 4 new forged valves. I am waiting for him to get me another set of valves for the other head. Gets rid of those nasty friction welded things Ducati put in it that caused the problem in the firt place.
I could do a rebuild thread as it started life as a 748sps although I too would be repeating myself as i posted it or a bit of it on the "other" site as well

  12. If the other site was Ducatisti I and many others wont have seen it, or have forgotten. Always like reading about engineering on these machines..

  13. I think we tend to forget that not everyone has been around since the Ark, if it's to be believed that's at the rear wheel.

  14. If I read that right its like a normal bike under 7krpm and then goes manic to 14k
If I rode that I wouldn't need a bucket list I'd be in one

  15. Very nice repair job. Not easy to do but very satisfying when you bring it back to life.

  16. I see johns dyno is as optimistic as ever !

  17. Exactly, I'd have put it at 180. It did pee all over a BMW S1000RR though and ChamMTB had the same treatment on his with very similar results out on the road. The Aprillia is a toy in comparison with nowhere near that grunt level. 1098R is better bike though and sensible money now.

  18. I have a desmo engine for sale £5500 plus delivery . It's a good investment ducati won't extend warranties on desmosedicis , and warranty companies won't touch them .

  19. What's wrong with it?

  20. It was not so much a Project as a refresh

it started because this happened at the time lots of theories were offered but what really happened was the bearing in the inlet cam shaft seized.
