Went down to London with my lad to pick up his downhill mountain bike and it was great, practically nothing on the road all the way there and back....didnt realise how expensive they are, I could have bought a Termig for a Panigale with what he paid! but he said it was a bargain.
I'm going to fit a bump pad I found in the cellar to the seat unit on the little 749. I knew I had one somewhere!
OOPS! I bought myself a Yamaha FZS Fazer 600 today. Now i gotta figure out how to break the news to my girlfriend. Anyone wanna trade places with me?????? I didn't think so.
Went for a walk in the snow. Plenty of deer tracks in the forest, but no deer. It didn't stop snowing the whole time. Then I made a blackcurrant and blackberry tart with garden fruit from the freezer. The blackcurrants said they were from 2005... Great invention, the freezer.
Today I have mostly been travelling from Morzine to Geneva airport. Then hanging about Geneva airport till we could take off several hours later. its a good job that the staff at Geneva airport don't make watches cos Swiss watches would then be shite.
I'm not an unreasonable man, but it's three in the morning and there's a road gang right outside my house using a road drill. There's a gas leak going to the dental surgery opposite, the fire brigade have been and broken into the place, so the intruder alarm was going off - I've sorted that (why the fire brigade couldn't do that I don't know). Walking back across the road, I ask the gas men to get the digging done as quickly as possible, to which one of the spotty little oiks replies, "put the kettle on grandad". Cheeky little fucker By the time I got to where he was standing he'd sprinted half a mile down the road and his mates were repeatedly apologising for his attitude. The kango has been put away and they're now trying to lever the tarmac up with breaker bars...
Give me Chambrey or Turin over Geneva anyday. Was it good ? There was lots of fresh snow this last week.
Geneva airport doesn't seem to be big enough to cope with the demand. Chambery is much the same to me. Turin is ok. The conditions were excellent. Probably the best I've ever experienced  We did a lot of pow, off piste and some funpark stuff too. Think I'm becoming a bit of a park monkey. love doing the jumps and rails. Which isn't bad for an old giffer like me
That's in the winter, in the Summer it's got the other problem. I regularly drive up to Geneva to enjoy the summer scenery and avoid flying from Malpensa or Linate.
Geneva's a perfectly good airport most of the time, but it's bedlam on a Ski Saturday. Like just about any airport, once you've got a load of people hanging around, there's nowhere for them to sit down. I'm still amazed in this age of information technology that airport information is still so shite. Say Heathrow is full of snow or something, the people there must know that the place is going to out of commission for at least 5 hours. They could relay this info to the airlines to relay to the airports where people are hanging around to get on a flight. It is one stop and approx 10 minutes from Geneva Airport to the centre of Geneva. Everyone could have gone and done some sightseeing or at least holed up in a warm café.
Well I know it's only half way through the day but I ain't going to be doing a great this afternoon after this mornings escapades. Run Profile | 10kilometers | Times and Records | Strava
The gas men are still outside. They've got half a mile of pavement up and they still haven't found the leak 13 hours later. The kango is still going. Someone is going to die soon.
