1200 Use Of A Oxford Oximiser Charger

  1. Hi,

I am on my second Ducati a Multistrada 1200 S 2017. Can I use my Oxford Oximiser to keep the battery charged during periods of not using the bike. On mu 1200 Monster I had to get a Ducati charger but dont see one for the Multistrada.

    Thanks

  2. I've used the Oximiser on my 2016 Multi for the last 2 years without issue and intend to use on my 1260...:upyeah:

  3. Cheers Soloman,

Your gonna love the clutch-less riding you can get on the 1260, enjoy

  4. I use one for my multi and another for my campervan without any problems.

  5. I hate Oxford Chargers.... made of real Sh1t... even the Aldi one is better.

  6. Hi Roger, I thought you can use your Monster one on the Multi as they use a standard Ducati fitting?

  7. Hi Jimvee,

Thanks for your reply but I have two problems with that really. 1 I have no idea what I did with the Monster one and 2 to there benefit I do have two power sockets built in but not one that would have fitted the Monster charger.
    Cheers

  8. I asked Nelly at Cornerspeed about using optimisers over the winter and his advice was to steer clear of them. Wait until the day before and then just charge them overnight. Something to do with the new gel batteries not liking the constant drip feed.

I must admit I followed his advice and left my bike off the optimiser over winter. When the time came for it's annual service a couple of weeks back, I tried to start it but it was as flat as a pancake. Stuck her on the optimiser over night and she fired up no problem the next day.

  9. Where I have seen displeasure with optimisers the problem seems to be fixed/more confident with the CTEK range and for bikes the MSX 5.0 seems to be well regarded

  10. My Lotus has been on a charger for the 9 winters I have had it now and never an issue, as has my R1 for 7 years both on the same batteries all that time. My chargers are cheap £15 ones but they do turn off when fully charged and turn back on again when the voltage drops - do the Oximiser ones keep pumping juice in constantly?
