  1. This. Is going to be a long one. 5 hours in the garage this morning removing the hypers motor. This has kinda spilled out some other jobs. Swing arm pivot bolt needs a service ( 2 hours of the job was just removing that ). Loom needs a good clean. Some coating on a few bits attached to the sub frame...

  2. May as well get frame repainted whilst its in bits. BTW I vote silver for engine.

  3. Yeah...it'll be cheaper as the top barrel is in pretty good Nick...

  4. Something wrong or just a way to pass a bank holiday weekend.....

  5. Yeah....crank seized....not found out why yet...

  6. Bummer....hope it all goes well.

  7. Doubtful Si.....grand minimum could go as high as 2.5k if I'm really unlucky which I fully expect to be!

  8. Well at least you have 2 other bikes to keep you going..........

  9. Yeah....but like a child this one is now off the grid so....now I want to have a go on this one and I can't!.

Having said that I'll be in there tomorrow sorting out the non engine related stuff for coating and getting it sent off...swing arm out also for new bearings....

  10. I walked past mine in the garage today and brushed some dust of it as I passed.....

  11. I'm a long way off that....on the plus side should come back looking better than ever...

  12. If your going bare metal approach, this guys worth a look. He did my 1100 Katana back in the day after a winters commute. Was better than it was prior to that by miles. Damned if I wish I hadn't sold that bike. Dammit dammit dammit.

  13. That's...polishing though isn't it?

  14. The finish is up to you. He does painting too (or did or sent it somewhere, i cant remember). It was so long ago when he did my engine (20 odd yrs ago?), that I don't know what type of paint etc he applied. But my engine looked brand new. It was a tad furry before. I was forced to commute during a rough winter as I'd put my fiesta into the barrier on j8 m25.

  15. If your engine’s toast , I might be braking mine this year , I was gonna sell but it’s on a q plate so I’m better off braking , there’s only 3600 m on engine with new belts just fitted ?

  16. @wormick Yours is an s yes? Mine's an evo...slightly different internals i think.

  17. I don't think it's going to get much worse...what's the verdict on the swing arm bearings....I can't feel any play but the they're a little corroded where the spindle goes through...

It's a sealed unit so not sure how I can get some grease in there...

  18. Yeah it’s an s , but I thought it’s the same the only differences are graphics and suspension on an evo

  19. No...quite a few differences...main ones are flywheel and evo is a single spark. Ecu is different also...and clocks.

  20. Check the needle bearing on the left of s/arm, mine were shagged at 18000 due to insufficient grease from factory.
