Firstly, Oprah did OK. Secondly, what a sad sorry excuse of a person. Still lying, still trying to control the agenda and the only thing he is sorry for is being found out. I followed his Tour 'Victories' and they were great theatre, I wanted to believe but deep down I think I always knew the truth. I hope he gets thrown to the wolves.
Yes, that all sounds reasonable to me. I think I loathe Lance Armstrong, not just because he's a liar, but for the way he destroyed people who dared to question his dope-free status. Naturally, if you've got ill-gotten millions, it's a lot easier to start libel actions and frighten people with lawyers. He is a sad excuse for a human being. I wonder how many people's lives he's ruined. And as you say, the only thing he regrets is being discovered. He's vaguely psychopathic, I think.
I read David Walsh's book "From Lance to Landis" sometime ago and the "evidence" was compelling. It was easy to dismiss the book as sour grapes or as someone with an axe to grind, but it niggled away at me for years. I admired and respected Armstrong's achievements as we all did, thought of him in the highest calibre. Now I just feel cheated as a fan of cycling and want to punch the twat. 7 times.
He was a very devious and manipulative individual. I doubt he has changed. Also I imagine him meeting with his advisors to discuss what strategy they should adopt to minimise the fiscal damage to Armstrong Inc. I hope he gets taken to the cleaners, but that any good works done by the cancer charities he funded is not detrimentally affected. That was the only good he did, whatever his motives. As others have said, the only thing he regrets is being found out. I have only watched the first programme, but the clips of the second put me off somewhat. I don't think I could watch those crocodile tears without throwing something at the TV. Compare the record of Armstrong and his cohorts (surely they are not without blame either) to the recent documentary series about David Brailsford and Team Sky. I believe cycling can be in good hand if those with integrity lead the sport, and those without are kicked out. Wonder if Armstrong will be the last. I also suspect the only people who will benefit from this sorry mess will be American lawyers, who will trouser $M's in fees.
LOL well if they were doing better I'd suggest Coventry, but Villa it is. Lets see Stan Collymore's reaction to that US import.
At least Cov fans admit they are shite. The Vanilla boo their team at matches and slag off their manager in the media, but still maintain they are a big club and "deserve" to succeed. They have the biggest variation in home gates in the Prem, and have done for years. Soo fickle. Still, most of us will be either disappointed or relieved at the end of the season!
