This afternoon I wanted to install my GPS in the new to me bike (2016 MTS 1200S) and, as I have read, there must be a white connector with the other side already connected so you can solder the cables of your GPS to this side of the connector. This video provides a very good hint: However, when I dismounted the left side panel I found 2 white connectors. One is free but it has no other side so I cannot connect anything and the other white connector is connected to the equipment you can see in the picture attached, which was "mounted" in the bike using Velcro tape. What is this? Can you please confirm where I have to connect the GPS? Thanks in advance!
Mine was the smaller white connector (female) but mine had a male connector coming out of it with two thin cables blancked off. Yours looks like that part is missing.
Have a look at these pics i took over weekend with bike in bits fitting spotlights. See the Red & black cables from sat nav wiring to the small white plug as in your picture.
Thanks a lot Steviegtr and broke! This is exactly the same connection I wanted to do in my bike but I do not have the "male" part of the connector with the cables to connect the red and black cables from the Garmin. Do you if I can buy them from the dealer? Maybe as an spare part? Because, the other option is to connect the GPS directly to the battery.
I ended up searching for ‘Ducati indicator pigtails’ when I needed a connector to connect the GPS. Unsure if available from dealer but I bought from a company called kojaycat as they came with wires attached and made it easier to connect.
Thanks for the hint. I understand that you bought the connector with both sides and ended up using only the male side to connect to the female side already existing in the bike. Am I right?
I bought just the plug needed. Came as a pack of 2 as they are the same connectors used for the indicators.
Sorry for delay. The plug on my bike was from Ducati. They fitted the Navihalter & my wiring free when bike was new. So they must have those plugs. If not then why not remove the socket on the bike & solder/heat shrink you wiring to it.
I think there is a part number for the part you want including the tails. I think it's been posted in a previous post on a similar thread.
Same website as mentioned above. To buy from them you,ll have to create an account, but found these on there if you don,t want to start soldering connectors.

Thanks a lot for all the replays!! I have several options in case I will not be able to fix it with the dealer. I have called the sales person a couple of hours ago and he told me he passed the pictures to the technical / service department and they will contact me. If I have to purchase them form the website provided (thanks!), I think I will go for these ones as they have pig tail to make easier the connection to the Garmin´s cables. And, I already some connectors at home waiting for this job http://kojaycat.co.uk/epages/950000...th=/Shops/950000457/Products/DUC-WHT-PIGTAILS
The large black box is the bluetooth module. I used the white connector for mine, no problem, and have a garmin unit fitted.
Those are the ones I ordered from them, don’t recall having to set up an account though. Soldered on to the Garmin lead and used heatshrink on the join.
These ones are in back order and they don't know when will be available again. Steviegtr, I am planning to buy the same as you did, cut the transparent connector and solder my GPS cables to the black and red cables on the connector. Do you think it will be long enough? How long are the cables?
You should have loads of spare cable on your sat nav wiring. That black box you mentioned earlier in the thread, i believe is the Bluetooth module. Just remember when you tywrap the cable to the nav mount have the screen adjusted to highest setting so the cable will have a small loop on it when screen down.
Thanks for the hint! but I will replace one of the original Ducati screws with the RAM mount "ball" mounted on top of an M8 screw. So I guess the screen position is not that important. (I just realized you have the Navihalter on your bike) Checking again in kojaycat.co.uk I have seen they have 2 other options available. A little bit more expensive but I will also use the connectors include to "solder" my GPS cables. http://kojaycat.co.uk/epages/950000...th=/Shops/950000457/Products/DUC-WHT-PIGTAIL+ I think they are the same as the white one´s posted above but in black. http://kojaycat.co.uk/epages/950000...=/Shops/950000457/Products/DUC-HYPER-PIGTAILS
