Topbox options

  1. Probably the best looking and certainly the most functional I've seen..................they missed an obvious enhancement when designing it though, put it on a hinge so it can fold down when you're not carrying a pillion...

..........and have the 'hinge' hydraulically operated by a switch on the dash and hey presto you have an air brake for solo riding

  2. If you're interested in it, I have a complete Givi top box rack for the 1200 Multi, quick to remove when you want to whip it off.

You'd be able to fit any Givi box to it then - a much cheaper option than the £400 option.

It's only been on my bike a month - drop me a pm!

  3. Just sent you a pm

  4. Manners! It thought this was my enquiry so I should have been given first dibs!

(However - I've actually got a Givi rack with mounting plate that came with the bike, I just don't like the way it looks on the bike...)

  5. i use an sw motech alu rack, with the quick release adaptor plate for my givi top box. really quick to remove 3 dzues fastners, and good quality, most of the time i have attatched a held rear bag which is ideal for odds and sods. in the pics ignore the straps which i have on permanently. 001.JPG 002.JPG 003.JPG 004.JPG

  6. Thanks for that, it's a much neater solution to this, any idea how much the rack was?

  7. cant remember cost but i got it from chainspeed, i already had the givi adaptor so just needed the alu rack. i think its a fairly expensive solution but it works really well, very quick to convert to top box.

  8. Im selling a pukka Ducati top box for the 1200 (red) in the for sale section if anyone is interested. Hope it's not poor form pointing this out.

    Cheers.

  9. Can you get replacement colour pieces for them? I'm interested but have a white MTS.

  10. No idea im afraid but id doubt it would make it cost effective even if you can. Try your dealer.

  11. you still want pics of the givi? can do tomorrow, its a good box cos' its square and big, looks ok in the alu finish and its a givi monokey installation.

  12. would be nice in carbon :)
    i know, i'm sick...

  13. I've got a Give Maxia 52 litre topbox on mine. My mate machined a 1/2 inch thick nylon plate which is attached to the bike and then the Givi plate bolts onto that.

  14. You'll get used to me Jim.................PHOTOS!!

Not to worry, it's a common malady......you're in good company lol

  15. What I think I would like is something about this size and proportions (narrow, taller), but may not such a rugged style?

  17. Thanks....clever idea :)

  18. I can't take the credit. It was scwirral's design and manufacture. He used it for 8k miles hassle free before getting a pukka Ducati one and kindly giving it to me.

  19. I guessed Simon might have had something to do with it.........handy guy to have as a mate  (you heard what he's tinkering with now?)
