1200 Replacement Key For Panniers

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by ilbuono, Apr 7, 2018.

  1. I had my MTS 1200S stolen (after only 7 days on the streets in London!!). For the insurance claim I had to send in all the keys I still had in my possession. The whole thing was quite stressful and at the time I forgot that I still had the panniers in the attic, which obviously require the same keys...!

I now want to sell this set of panniers which are pretty much in mint condition but without a key for it, I'm afraid I won't get much for it. Is there a way to get a replacement key for just the panniers? Thanks.

  2. I wouldn't worry about it. Most people getting them will remove your old tumblers and use the tumblers that match their bike and their key.

  3. How'd or should I say can you get into them if their locked and you haven't got a key, without damaging them ?

  4. Locksmith should be able to open them easily.

  5. I'll give you £10 the pair,,delivered plus a bag of wotzizs

  7. My offer was tongue in cheek, but I think IMHO you are asking too much, given that they are locked.
    Q. Why did you lock them if they were in the loft?

Suggestion .... get them unlocked and then supply then in that way.
Any buyer can then easily swap the locks for theirs.

I've paid less than £200 for very good condition ones with locks and keys. I've got at least three sets (for some reason).

You cannot take out the keys unless they are locked. AND aircon if you got a set of panniers for less than £200 then you are either a feckin lier or you stole them. What do you reckon Wayne 58. To remove the locks are quite easy just drill or dremel the centres out .

  9. Hi! I found this on eBay and thought you might like it! Check it out now! Ducati Multistrada Panniers And Top Box http://r.ebay.com/Clp2lQ

  10. Yah! Boo sucks, you tell him AC :)

  11. Strange, mine are all stored in the unlocked state? Top lock undone and pushed inside, with the back and fronts clipped.

  12. I think you can lock them open or shut to get the key out, but I've never tried.

  13. Yep... the key is retained if in the bi-stable position, however you can remove the key with them locked, but not in position to secure the case,... like what I do...:yum
I think I do this as Iv'e got a few Mutleys, cases and top boxes.... if I found myself in the position of being a Solo Mutley owner I may have made the same mistake. :eyes:

  14. Interesting to see what final bid is. Some good stuff there.

  15. Sorry AirCon was not trying to insult you, just that you got yours at a good price.

  16. Just tried my locks with a non transponder key from a Monster and can confirm that it is the one to get if you want to get a blank

  17. Takes about 15 minutes to disassemble the original 1200 panniers and remove the locks!
