Just wondering if anyone would be intrested in a ally front subframe which would be a exact copy of the heavy steel standard one. Why i ask is i know soneone who fabricates 851/888 front and rear alley sub frames and i asked him if he would biyld a ss front subframe but he needs to know if they would be in demand.
Although I don't need one myself right now, I would think that there is / would be demand. They are easily bent in a spill and a bugger to straighten if they were ever straight to begin with. Second hand ones are becoming sought after.
Just testing the water! I know Pablo pirate wants one. but then he is a losing KG off his SS special tart! The 851/888 alloy stuff is selling like hot cakes on the 851/888 forum.
Hi its me l am making alloy subframes for 851/888s front and rear and some other parts from Titanium and stainless can rivet straps and exhaust hangers Have been asked about Ss subframes Have obtained a subframe to use as a pattern Would be nice to get an idea of demand
Hi mate not built a carby one yet but the 888 front are looking to be around £200 -£250 lots of lasercut brackets and welding involved but of course it all depends on numbers Steve
very interesting rear subframe. how much would that conversion cost if you were open to such a thing?
Howdo!!! Yep I want 1 to fit my Superlight any thing for lightness!!!! Ready to go 851/888 hunting
I can't keep spending out on an SS as much as I would like to, but..........if you make the SS ones, make sure you add a brace to each mirror stalk.......stop the b*ggers from vibrating. AL
I need to spend £150 elsewhere, so I think I can put up with the one I had to straighten out a bit......... I think the braces could possibly get in the way so maybe a thicker tube might do it, or maybe a web from the 'inside' of the tube down to the speedo mount lugs.... AL
