Tough one, Put him on a Yamaha and he's going to be there or there abouts top 3. It was a gamble for both him and Ducati when he signed, but I must admit it's hardly showing the promise. The one glaringly obvious thing Lorenzo needs to work on is building his confidence in the wet or dodgy conditions such as yesterday. Since his high speed crash in 2013 at Assen his wet weather riding has fallen off a cliff. I think he broke his collarbone didn't he? and prior to that I can't remember a previous mid season injury (might be wrong) that actually took him out of future races. He strikes me as an mental type of rider, not in the sense of being ham fisted on track as he's pin point accurate lap after lap, after lap. I mean more in the emotionally happy department, if things are OK upstairs then he's pretty much in the top 3 riders of recent time in my opinion, clearly something isn't right for him. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if there was some movement at the end of this year. Lorenzo ending up on a Honda / Yamaha and someone new going to Ducati.
Its all in his head. Last time he underperformed was when Rossi got under his skin and he started crashing. Defo head issues and less the bike.
Btw the best for Ducati AND JLo is for him to be dumped. A move to Honda/Suzuki and he may be able to re invent himself, though I still have reservations about him being able to accept being second fastest in a team. Even just for a familiarisation period. Big headed.
He just doesn't seem hungry, 4 seconds a lap off when it's a bit dodgy, riding around in last. I dunno, I think he is riding out his contract at this rate.
not a fan,but he can ride japanese bikes very well and he has a total of five championships to his name,so get him on the right bike
Everyone is saying Suzuki. His weapon is his blistering corner speed when uninterrupted. Unfortunately I don’t think the Suzuki is that bike anymore. It used to be in their early days but we all saw Rins run wide time and time again last race. Funniest thing is, his best option would be a satellite VR46 yamaha ride
That's interesting. I'd really like to see him do well but ... I'm running out of patience and Balognia must be too. Such a lot of money and such huge underperformance. They actually would have been better sticking with Ianone. I'd give him another race or two and then I'd be looking for my money back.
surely his contract has terms connected to performance fucks sake, it's a contract a multi million contract must have expectations, minimum expectations, come on if he finishes every race shit he still gets the same money? Bollocks....fuck the contract man off with him.
If you look at the riders that have made the Ducati work, the riding styles they have aren’t like that of Lorenzo’s.. Now Marquez is someone that I really believe could make the Ducati work.
Yeah, that figures. Agreed. And the Ducati is so fast he could just smash into every rider in the field and take them all out. What do you say?
