Parking At Brands Hatch Bsb

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by Pfk, Apr 12, 2018.

  1. Hi Guys,

Doing the BSB at Brands Hatch this weekend (Sunday 15th April) got a work VIP invite.

Was thinking about riding but not sure what the parking is like “more importantly is it secure”.

Don’t want to park a bike up and come back to find it either missing or bits missing off it.

Does anyone have any experience of this ?

Or is it a car jobbie to be on the safe side

    Thanks in advance

  2. Never had an issue at Brands. If you're cheeky, park your bike in the Thistle at the entrance. Plenty of lamp posts in their car park.

If you end up in the bike Park, maybe feed your chain through a neighbour's chain. They can still undo their chain but it makes you both more secure.

We've camped many years and left our bikes next to our tents with no issue.

  3. Pikies love brands almost as much as Donington, so lock it up as well as you can and make sure ahythung easily removed cant be. Unless you manage to park inside, then never heard of any issues. Ducati normally do a stand with parking, may be worth asking around

  4. That's because they all live round there :joy:

  6. I always park in the bike parking area with the rif-raf and will be again on Sunday and have never had a problem so far.
It’s a bit of a worry leaving a bike with several thousand pounds worth of bits that could be removed with just a set of Allen keys, but if you let it bother you too much you wouldn’t go anywhere. And I refuse to go to a bike event in a car.

  7. Where have you been for the last 4 or 5 years ? The Brands Hatch hotel has changed hands at least 3 times since it was the Thistle. It’s a Mercure now. Andy

  8. We still call it the Thistle. Then again we still refer to pubs by their ancient names too. If it's what you know, you know :upyeah:

  9. I've had a helmet stolen from there on one occasion . Had a set of R&G bungs stolen on another occasion .
I'll be going in the car......

  10. Mixed feelings as I thought.

Yes it seems a shame to go to a bike event in a car agreed.

It’s times like this when you kinda wish you had some crappy old “mad max esk” CB500, but thinking about it that wouldn’t be much fun.

    Oh deliberations Lol

  11. Life too short to worry. Its what insurance is for :upyeah:

One of the worst this I've seen was in the bike park, the fired opposite the paddock entrance, thousands of bikes all lined up. One fella didn't put a puck under, got off, fell over and took out about 15 in the row. Picked his up, started it and rode off! :bomb:

  12. What an arse,

Ooh Karma’s gonna catch up with him and it’s gonna hurt o_O
