That’s why it nearly always works out cheaper to buy a complete exhaust. The link pipes hardly ever come up on their own.
@DQ959, I’m guessing we spoke on the phone on Thursday. I phoned back but got your voice mail so I hope you picked up the message. To confirm, the ‘Y’ piece for the 959 exhaust is not sold separately new by Ducati. The ‘Y’ piece for the 1299 exhaust is sold new separately but does not fit the 959 exhaust headers. Cheers, Andy
When I changed my Exhaust I leaved the standard 959 headers on and just used 1299 cans and link pipe and fits no problem, I believe the 959/1299 headers are the same
Not what I was told on Thursday by our parts manager. Happy to be proved wrong but that is what I was told. Andy
Yes that’s correct I have to buy the 1299 link pipe to go with the 1299 cans. I brought from a guy in America. Can you ring again pls
I’ve spoken to Simon in Ducati stoke branch. He said he was the first person to put 1299 exhausts on the 959 and explained how it’s done. You will need the 1299 link pipe, set of fairings, 1299 can, servo eliminator/servo buddy and a map/dyno.
Im not sure why they wouldn’t sell the 959 link pipe separately. Unless they mean they won’t sell the US959 link pipe in the UK, which is understandable (although actually, the US959 and UK/US1299 link pipes are exactly the same part number). To clarify, the 1299 and 959 headers are identical. The US959 and UK/US1299 link pipe (with valve) are all the same, and are what you need to fit the 1299 or US959 under belly pipes. I covered it all here when I did the swap 2 years ago... https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/euro-4-exhaust-swap.43125/page-3#post-764342 You are correct.
