Hi there from deepest rural Lincolnshire. I have been very fortunate to have had a few Ducati's in my garage over the past 20 years or so namely a PASO, a 916 Foggy Rep and a 999R File Rep. After several years of ownership with my 999R I fancied a change and sold it to fund the purchase of a BMW GSA! I have since had a couple of GSA's and I also bought a Benelli Tornado Tres as my 'sports' bike! The garage has never been the same without the presence of a Ducati so I thought it was time to put that right once again and I started looking at the Panagale's. Although I am sure that the latest models, (especially the V4's), are exceptional pieces of technology I really wanted something that epitomised the breed and so I started looking at the previous generation of sports bikes and eventually came across my new acquisition - a rather splendid looking 1198S! I have now had the 'Latin lady' just under three weeks and I am very pleased with her and the only thing I need to do is wire in my Optimate charging lead as the battery soon runs down after a few days of sitting in the garage! My first impressions of her were a little mixed as she did seem a little lively, (in both engine response and handling), but that was probably due to my not having ridden a sports bike for a while coupled with the fact that I was riding home in a very strong cross wind!! She has now covered about 300 miles in my care and I am very pleased with my new acquisition - it is just a pity about the awful weather we are having to endure as the beast has had to remain in the garage. I can't wait until the sun comes out once again!
Welcome, an exceptional choice of bike for returning to the fold. I also happen to have an 1198 in the Stable and be in the area (north lincs here). Would be good to see some photos of your new steed Feel free to pop along to the 2018 Lincolnshire meets and rides out thread and come along to any rides out that take your fancy
Errrrr pics of bins and bike please it’s a forum law and we like them Welcome into the mad house I’m hoping it’s red
Hi Andy, Many thanks to both yourself, (and everyone else), for your very warm wflcome! I will post some pictures later!
Presenting the latest 'Latin Lady' to adorn my garage . . . . It has always been my opinion that the various race colour schemes do tend to accentuate the lines of our thoroughbreds - but I fully appreciate the fact that other Ducati owners may disagree with me! I will post a few more pictures shortly - just got to pop outside to change the downstream O2 sensor on my Jag! Martin.
And, (after owning a few Ducati's over the years), you would have thought that i would have learned by now!
Who cares what other folk think. Its what you like that matters....That Sir, is a work of art, thumbs up from me
